A German number for WhatsApp, on a real +49 mobile line

WhatsApp is Germany's dominant messenger, and German businesses tend to prefer a German contact over a foreign one. A +49 mobile on your WhatsApp lets you talk to landlords, employers and customers there as a local, without first clearing a German provider's identity check.

You get a German mobile from the 015, 016 or 017 blocks, not a VoIP line of the kind WhatsApp refuses. The six-digit code comes to your SMSCreation inbox, so you can register from Vienna, Istanbul or anywhere else.

Why people want a German number for WhatsApp

For anyone relocating, freelancing for German clients or running a shop that ships to Germany, a +49 WhatsApp shows you're reachable locally. It also keeps German conversations separate from your home number.

Getting a German SIM from abroad is the hard part: since July 2017 every prepaid customer must pass an identity check, usually by video call or in a shop. A number activated online with email-only sign-up avoids that, and the same +49 line can receive codes from German banking apps, parcel services and classifieds.

  • A +49 contact German businesses take seriously
  • No German prepaid ID check
  • Codes from German banks and parcel apps on the same line

Typing a German number into WhatsApp

German mobiles start with 015, 016 or 017 domestically. For WhatsApp, drop the 0 and add +49: 01512 3456789 becomes +49 1512 3456789. Depending on the block, a German mobile has ten or eleven digits after +49, and both are correct, so don't pad or trim to match someone else's number. Germans often write numbers with a slash or brackets, like 0151/23456789; remove those characters before you enter the number.

How WhatsApp verifies a German number, now and later

WhatsApp checks a +49 number by texting a six-digit code to it. Should the timer run out first (WhatsApp says delivery can take up to 10 minutes), tap “Call me” and an automated call to your German line reads the digits, with incoming calls included at no extra cost.

Reinstalling WhatsApp or switching phones triggers another code to the same German number. Email only substitutes when an existing account already carries a verified address, so keep the +49 line alive rather than letting it run out after the first login.

05

WhatsApp on your German number, step by step

  1. 01Create an SMSCreation account with an email address, open Germany and pick a number; its XX digits are filled in at activation.
  2. 02Pay with USDT or USDC and wait for the on-chain match; your full +49 number then shows in the dashboard.
  3. 03In WhatsApp choose Germany and enter 1512 3456789, without the 0 and without slashes or brackets.
  4. 04Take the code from the inbox, or accept the automated call if WhatsApp offers it.
  5. 05Add a PIN and recovery email via Settings > Account > Two-step verification.

Honest caveats for WhatsApp in Germany

  • A two-step verification PIN request on a German number you just activated means a previous holder may have set one; WhatsApp's reset waiting period is a few days. Contact our support, because this falls under the 7-day replacement guarantee.
  • Some forms built outside Germany insist on one fixed length and reject valid +49 mobiles. WhatsApp accepts both lengths; if another service complains, enter the number exactly as your dashboard shows it.
  • Germany is on CET (UTC+1) and CEST (UTC+2) in summer, and German offices keep hours strictly, so business WhatsApp messages get the quickest replies during the working day.

Kostenlos? Free German inboxes vs a +49 number you keep

Because a German prepaid SIM needs an identity check before activation, many people abroad look for a free German number for WhatsApp instead. What they find are public inboxes: one +49 number, hundreds of visitors, every SMS displayed on the page. WhatsApp codes sent there can be read and reused by anyone, and the numbers have usually been registered so often that the account you create is never really yours.

A one-time code is the cheaper answer if you only need to get through one registration, and we'd say so plainly. The difference shows up later: WhatsApp texts the same +49 number again whenever you set up a new phone or reinstall, and a one-time number has been passed on by then. Keeping the number is what keeps the account.

  • Free inbox: no cost, no privacy, often already linked to WhatsApp
  • One-time code: cheapest when a single registration is enough
  • A +49 number you keep: every future code arrives in your inbox

WhatsApp code not arriving on a +49 number

German numbers trip people up because their length varies: after +49 a mobile is ten or eleven digits, depending on the block, and both are correct. Don't add or remove a digit to match a friend's number. Paste it as one block, without the trunk 0, slash or brackets you see in German notation such as 0151/23456789, and check that the prefix after +49 starts with 15, 16 or 17, the mobile ranges.

  • WhatsApp says the SMS can take up to 10 minutes; let the timer finish rather than requesting codes repeatedly.
  • After the countdown, “Call me” delivers the code by an automated voice call to the German line.
  • Several wrong guesses lock registration for a while, and WhatsApp offers no way to shorten that wait.
  • Send a test SMS from any phone to the +49 number; if it lands in your dashboard, the number itself is working.

Why it works with WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram & Google

Apps check more than the digits: they look up the line type, the country format and whether the number can actually receive their code. Every SMSCreation number is a real mobile number in its country's official format — not a VoIP line — so it passes those checks the same way a SIM in your pocket does.

And we stand behind it with a 7-day replacement guarantee: if your number doesn't work with WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram, Google or any app you need, we replace it free with a new number in the same country — or refund 100% if you prefer.

  • Non-VoIP, real mobile line type — line-type checks see an ordinary SIM number, not a VoIP line
  • Official country format with the right country code, prefix and digit count
  • Unlimited incoming SMS and calls — codes arrive by text or through the “call me” option
  • Private to you — never listed on public SMS sites, so it isn't flagged or rate-limited
  • Yours for as long as you want — re-verification and account recovery keep working

Price, keeping the number and the 7-day guarantee

A German number is from $1.80 a month on the yearly plan, billed as $21.60. It includes 500 texts and 1,000 minutes out each month plus unlimited incoming texts and calls, and it remains yours as long as auto-renew runs, with no German contract to sign.

If WhatsApp rejects the +49 number during the first 7 days after activation, you'll receive a replacement German number free or a 100% refund. A number with no calls or texts on it can be refunded in that week without a reason.

Questions

Why is my German number a digit shorter or longer than a friend's?

The Bundesnetzagentur allocates mobile blocks of different sizes, so some German mobiles have ten digits after +49 and others eleven. Both are valid for WhatsApp; enter yours exactly as shown in the dashboard.

Do I have to pass a German ID check to use a +49 number on WhatsApp?

The ID rule applies to German prepaid SIM cards. An SMSCreation number isn't a SIM: you sign up with an email, pay in crypto and receive WhatsApp codes in the web dashboard, with no ID, passport or selfie.

Can I register WhatsApp on a German number before I've moved?

Yes. The number is active from the moment the payment is matched, and the WhatsApp code reaches your dashboard wherever you are, so landlords and employers can reach you on +49 before the move.

Can my home WhatsApp and a German one share a single phone?

Yes. Leave WhatsApp on your home number and install WhatsApp Business for the German one; each registers separately with its own code.

Does the WhatsApp code reach my German number if I'm outside Germany?

Yes. It goes to the +49 number, whose inbox is your web dashboard, so your location doesn't matter.

Is a free German number OK for WhatsApp?

No. Free German numbers on receive-SMS sites are public, so your WhatsApp code is visible to every visitor and anyone can use a later code to take the account. A number only you can read is the safe way to keep a +49 WhatsApp.

Can I use a German number for WhatsApp Business?

Yes. The WhatsApp Business app registers a number with the same six-digit SMS or “Call me” call as regular WhatsApp. Since each account lives on one number, use a separate +49 number for the business if you want to keep a personal WhatsApp as well.

Why is the WhatsApp code not arriving on my +49 number?

Usually the entry: a leftover 0, a slash, or a digit added or dropped. German mobiles have ten or eleven digits after +49. Wait out the timer, try “Call me”, and if a test SMS arrives but WhatsApp's doesn't, ask support for a replacement within 7 days.

Will the number work with WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram and Google?

Yes — guaranteed. It's a real mobile number with unlimited incoming SMS and calls, so verification codes arrive by SMS or voice call. If it doesn't work with WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram, Google or any app you need, we replace it free within 7 days — or refund 100%.
