A US phone number for Instagram
Brands, creators and social media managers aiming at American followers often want the account behind that audience to carry an American number. A US mobile keeps a business or creator profile separate from your personal phone, lets an agency hand an account to a client without handing over a private number, and gives the profile's security settings a +1 anchor that matches its market.
SMSCreation gives you a real US mobile number reserved for you. Instagram's confirmation and security codes come in by SMS and appear in a private web inbox, so you can manage the account's security from any browser. Here is the format Instagram expects, how its codes and re-checks work, and what the number can't do.
Why use a US number on Instagram
Three situations come up most. A company outside the country builds a profile for its American customers and wants the contact details to match. A creator separates a public account from the personal number friends and family use. And an agency runs several client profiles and needs a phone number per account that nobody on the team has to carry.
Instagram keeps the mobile numbers on an account private, so followers never see the digits. What the number does is protect the account: it receives the code when you confirm it, when you reset a password and, if you choose SMS two-factor authentication, whenever someone logs in from a device Instagram doesn't recognize.
Entering a US number in Instagram
Instagram's phone field has a country selector. Choose United States (+1) and type the ten digits: a three-digit area code and a seven-digit number. North American numbers have no trunk 0, and nothing in the digits marks a line as mobile or landline.
The mistake to avoid is an extra 1 in front of the area code while +1 is already selected, which gives eleven digits. Also make sure the selector really says United States and not Canada, which shares +1; the area code is what makes the number American.
- Country code
- +1
- Digits after +1
- 10 (area code plus seven digits)
- Example
- +1 201 555 0123
- Instagram code
- 6 digits by SMS
Pick your United States number
These United States numbers are listed right now (31 in total). Choose one on the country page; the hidden digits are assigned when your order is approved and the number is activated.
How Instagram confirms the number and asks again
When you add the number, Instagram sends a 6-digit code by text; entering it makes the number confirmed. A confirmed number is required before you can switch on SMS two-factor authentication, and the number you enter while setting up two-factor becomes the account's confirmed number. From then on, each login from an unrecognized device triggers a fresh code.
Two-factor settings live in Accounts Center under Password and security, or Meta Account settings on some profiles. There you can also choose WhatsApp as the delivery channel and download backup codes. Save those codes now: if a text is ever delayed during a login, a backup code gets you in. Instagram states plainly that if you lose both the email and the phone on an account that isn't linked to Facebook, it cannot restore access.
Set it up step by step
- 01On SMSCreation, choose United States and pick one of the listed mobile numbers.
- 02Pay in USDT or USDC; the full number appears in your dashboard once the payment is matched.
- 03In Instagram, open Accounts Center > Personal details, add a phone number and choose United States (+1).
- 04Type the ten digits, request the code and copy the 6-digit SMS from your SMSCreation inbox.
- 05Go to Accounts Center > Password and security > Two-factor authentication, choose text message and confirm the same number.
- 06Download the backup codes and store them somewhere safe, away from the phone you use for Instagram.
What a US number can't do on Instagram
- If Instagram asks for an ID photo or a video selfie, that is an identity check the account owner has to complete; no phone number can pass it.
- A US number doesn't change your profile's language or any other account setting; it only protects the login.
- Instagram may ask you to re-confirm a number that was added but never confirmed, or one that hasn't been updated for a long time; entering the SMS code once settles it.
- If the number doesn't work with Instagram within 7 days of activation, the replacement guarantee gives you another US number.
Keeping the account recoverable
An Instagram account can outlast many phones. The confirmed number is one of the main ways back in if you forget the password, so letting a US number lapse quietly removes one of your recovery options. Keep it on auto-renew from your wallet balance and it remains assigned to you.
Because the dashboard runs in a browser, the codes reach you in any time zone. A login check triggered while you are in Los Angeles, London or Lagos shows up the moment Instagram sends it.
Why it works with WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram & Google
Apps check more than the digits: they look up the line type, the country format and whether the number can actually receive their code. Every SMSCreation number is a real mobile number in its country's official format — not a VoIP line — so it passes those checks the same way a SIM in your pocket does.
And we stand behind it with a 7-day replacement guarantee: if your number doesn't work with WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram, Google or any app you need, we replace it free with a new number in the same country — or refund 100% if you prefer.
- Non-VoIP, real mobile line type — line-type checks see an ordinary SIM number, not a VoIP line
- Official country format with the right country code, prefix and digit count
- Unlimited incoming SMS and calls — codes arrive by text or through the “call me” option
- Private to you — never listed on public SMS sites, so it isn't flagged or rate-limited
- Yours for as long as you want — re-verification and account recovery keep working
Price, keeping it and the 7-day guarantee
A US number costs from $1.80 a month on the yearly plan, $21.60 billed yearly, the same price as every other country. You get unlimited incoming SMS and calls, 500 outgoing texts and 1,000 outgoing minutes a month. If Instagram doesn't accept the number within 7 days of activation, we replace it with another US number free or refund 100%, and a number that hasn't been used for any call or SMS can be refunded within 7 days, no questions asked.

Questions
Will my followers see the US number on my Instagram profile?
No. Instagram treats the mobile numbers and emails on an account as private. The number only protects and recovers the account unless you deliberately add contact options to a business profile yourself.
Should I type 1 before the area code in Instagram?
No. With United States (+1) selected, type the ten digits only. An extra 1 makes the number too long.
Can I use a US number for several client accounts?
It works best as one number per account you manage. Each account then has its own recovery path, and handing a profile back to a client doesn't expose the others.
Should I pick SMS or WhatsApp for Instagram two-factor with a US number?
Choose text message. An SMSCreation number receives SMS in the dashboard, and that is the channel this page covers. Keep your backup codes as well, whichever method you use.
What if an Instagram code doesn't arrive?
Give it a minute before asking for another one. During a login with two-factor on, a saved backup code works instead. Our guide on codes that don't arrive covers the number side in detail.
Will the number work with WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram and Google?
Yes — guaranteed. It's a real mobile number with unlimited incoming SMS and calls, so verification codes arrive by SMS or voice call. If it doesn't work with WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram, Google or any app you need, we replace it free within 7 days — or refund 100%.
