A US mobile number for your Amazon.com account
Amazon.com is Amazon's US store, and the phone number on your account there is more than a contact detail. It receives one-time passwords when you reset a password and, with Two-Step Verification switched on, the security code for every sign-in from a new device. Anyone who shops on Amazon.com from outside the country, or who wants shopping codes off their personal line, benefits from a US mobile number that stays reachable.
This page is about buyer accounts. It covers how Amazon reads a +1 number, where Amazon's US codes come from, how to recover if a code doesn't arrive, and a plain statement about selling: registering as a seller needs identity checks that a phone number cannot satisfy.
Why a US number for Amazon.com
A US mobile number matches the store. Codes for your Amazon.com account arrive on a domestic line, and if you ship to a US address, a US number on the account is a natural contact for the order.
It also separates shopping from everything else. Your personal number stays with your bank and friends, while Amazon's security codes land in a dashboard you can open from any browser, including when you travel outside the US.
How Amazon.com expects a +1 number
In Your Account, open Login & security and add or edit the mobile number. Choose the US country code, then type the ten digits: area code plus seven. Don't put a 1 in front of them.

Pick your United States number
These United States numbers are listed right now (31 in total). Choose one on the country page; the hidden digits are assigned when your order is approved and the number is activated.
How Amazon verifies and re-verifies
When you add the number, Amazon sends an OTP to confirm it. After that, the number is used whenever you reset a password (a reset OTP is valid for 10 minutes) and, if Two-Step Verification is on, each time you sign in on a new device or browser.
Amazon advises adding a backup method as well, such as an authenticator app or a second phone number. Pairing a US number with an authenticator app means one lost method doesn't lock you out.
Step by step
- 01Sign up at SMSCreation with an email and choose United States.
- 02Select a number and pay in USDT or USDC.
- 03On Amazon.com go to Your Account, then Login & security.
- 04Add the number with +1 and ten digits, then request the OTP.
- 05Copy the code from your dashboard inbox into Amazon.
- 06Turn on Two-Step Verification and add an authenticator app as a backup.
- 07Keep auto-renew on so every new-device code arrives.
Selling on Amazon.com is a different process
Registering as a seller asks for a phone number with country code, but Amazon also verifies your identity with a government-issued ID, either through a photo of you holding it or a video call. A phone number from us handles the phone step only. It does not replace, shortcut or satisfy the ID verification, so have genuine documents ready if you plan to sell.
Use the number for your own accounts. It's not for getting around an Amazon restriction or for creating accounts that misrepresent who you are; that breaks our Acceptable Use Policy.
When the code doesn't arrive
- Check the number under Login & security for a wrong digit or a leading 1.
- Make sure nothing blocks messages from 35213, then choose Resend Code.
- Signing in on a new device with no code prompt? Try Amazon's Alternate Sign-in: password, wait for the code, then add it to the end of your password.
- Still locked out? Use Didn't Receive the Code, then Two-Step Verification Account Recovery.
Why it works with WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram & Google
Apps check more than the digits: they look up the line type, the country format and whether the number can actually receive their code. Every SMSCreation number is a real mobile number in its country's official format — not a VoIP line — so it passes those checks the same way a SIM in your pocket does.
And we stand behind it with a 7-day replacement guarantee: if your number doesn't work with WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram, Google or any app you need, we replace it free with a new number in the same country — or refund 100% if you prefer.
- Non-VoIP, real mobile line type — line-type checks see an ordinary SIM number, not a VoIP line
- Official country format with the right country code, prefix and digit count
- Unlimited incoming SMS and calls — codes arrive by text or through the “call me” option
- Private to you — never listed on public SMS sites, so it isn't flagged or rate-limited
- Yours for as long as you want — re-verification and account recovery keep working
Price, keeping the number and the 7-day guarantee
US numbers are from $1.80 a month on the yearly plan, $21.60 billed yearly. The number is yours for as long as you renew it, so Two-Step Verification keeps working. If Amazon won't accept it, our 7-day replacement guarantee gives you a free replacement US number within 7 days of activation, or a 100% refund.

Questions
Can I use a US number on Amazon.com if I live abroad?
Yes, for your own buyer account. Codes arrive in your web dashboard in any country. Delivery and payment options are between you and Amazon.
Why don't I get Amazon's code on my US number?
Check for an extra 1 in front of the ten digits, make sure short code 35213 isn't blocked, and use Resend Code. Our guide on codes not arriving covers the rest.
Does a US number let me register as an Amazon seller?
It covers the phone part only. Amazon verifies sellers' identity with a government-issued ID by photo or video call, which no phone number can do for you.
Should I use SMS or an authenticator app for Amazon Two-Step Verification?
Use both. Keep the US number as the text method and add an authenticator app as a backup, as Amazon recommends.
What if my US number expires while Two-Step Verification is on?
Sign in with your backup method and update the number in Login & security. With no backup, Amazon's account recovery asks you to verify your identity, so keep renewing.
Will the number work with WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram and Google?
Yes — guaranteed. It's a real mobile number with unlimited incoming SMS and calls, so verification codes arrive by SMS or voice call. If it doesn't work with WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram, Google or any app you need, we replace it free within 7 days — or refund 100%.
