Instagram's codes, from confirmation to two-factor
Adding the number triggers a 6-digit text; once you enter it, the number is confirmed. Instagram requires a confirmed number for SMS two-factor authentication, and whichever number you enter while turning two-factor on becomes the confirmed one.
