Why does Google say my UK number is invalid?
Almost always because the trunk 0 is still there. With the United Kingdom flag selected, type 7400 123456 rather than 07400 123456. If the error persists, check the number isn't in the 070 or 076 ranges, which are not ordinary mobiles.
Can a UK number be the recovery phone on an older Gmail?
