Mexican number for WhatsApp: a real +52 mobile you keep, without the old 1
Mexico does business on WhatsApp: taquerías take orders, doctors confirm appointments, online sellers answer buyers and landlords arrange viewings there. The search for a Mexican number for WhatsApp comes from paisanos in the United States, remote workers in CDMX or Oaxaca, and companies with Mexican customers who want a +52 contact on their chats.
A +52 number from SMSCreation is a Mexican mobile you manage in a web dashboard rather than on a physical chip, so it doesn't depend on where your phone is. WhatsApp's six-digit code shows up there by SMS or by automated call.
Why a Mexican number on WhatsApp
A message from a +1 or +34 number to a Mexican business can look like a sales pitch; a +52 number looks like a customer. For freelancers billing Mexican companies, sellers shipping inside Mexico and families split across the border, it keeps Mexican conversations in one recognisable account.
Mexican delivery, ride-hailing, banking, fintech and classifieds apps verify by SMS too, so those codes can land on the same number. That's often the practical reason people want the line to last for years, not weeks.
- A +52 contact Mexican customers and suppliers reply to
- Family on both sides of the border on one Mexican WhatsApp
- Codes from Mexican apps on the same line
How a Mexican number goes into WhatsApp
Since 3 August 2019 every Mexican number, mobile or fixed, is ten digits and dialled the same way everywhere in the country. The old 01, 044 and 045 prefixes are gone, and so is the 1 that used to follow +52 for mobiles. For numbering purposes the country is split into eight areas, and the first of the ten digits identifies the area. In WhatsApp select Mexico, keep +52 and type the ten digits, 222 123 4567.
- Country code
- +52
- Digits after +52
- ten, with no prefix in front
- Written in Mexico
- 222 123 4567
- In WhatsApp
- +52 222 123 4567
- Drop
- the 1 after +52, and 044, 045 or 01

These Mexico numbers are listed right now (32 in total). Choose one on the country page; the hidden digits are assigned when your order is approved and the number is activated.
What WhatsApp checks for a +52 number
WhatsApp's help center applies one test worldwide: the number must receive a six-digit registration code, first by SMS and, after the timer, through an automated call if you tap “Call me”. Its help center lists VoIP, toll-free, premium-rate and universal access numbers as unsupported, and accepts landlines only on the WhatsApp Business app. Because Mexican mobile and fixed numbers share the same ten-digit format, you can't tell the type from the digits; our +52 numbers are mobiles.
It asks again later. Moving WhatsApp to a new phone or reinstalling sends another code to the same +52 number, and email can only replace that step for an existing account with a verified email. Keep the Mexican number active for as long as you want the account.
Verify WhatsApp with a Mexican number, step by step
- 01Sign up with an email (no INE, passport or proof of address), select Mexico and choose a +52 number; the XX digits are assigned at activation.
- 02Pay with USDT or USDC; when the on-chain payment matches, the full ten-digit number appears.
- 03In WhatsApp tap “Agree and continue” and choose Mexico from the country list.
- 04Type the ten digits, like 222 123 4567, with no 1 and no 044, and check the number on screen.
- 05Read the six-digit SMS in your dashboard, or wait out the timer and tap “Call me”.
- 06Secure the account with Settings > Account > Two-step verification (a password plus a recovery email).
Mexican format pitfalls
- Old guides and some outdated forms still show +52 1 for mobiles. That format ended in 2019, and the extra 1 gives WhatsApp eleven digits.
- 044, 045 and 01 were dialling prefixes that the 2019 numbering plan eliminated; none belongs in WhatsApp.
- Mexican numbers have no trunk 0, so there's nothing to drop at the start.
- A +52 number doesn't tell you which part of Mexico its owner is in, so check their local time before calling, especially when you are coordinating with contacts in the US.
Mexico's 2026 line-linking, as the CRT reported it
Mexico's telecom regulator, the Comisión Reguladora de Telecomunicaciones (CRT), reported on 25 June 2026 (Bulletin 021/2026) that every mobile line must be linked to a named person (vinculación), with deadlines for unlinked prepaid lines set by the number's last digit between August and December 2026. On 30 September 2026 (Bulletin 042/2026) it reported the remaining dates: lines ending in 4 on 15 October, 5 on 31 October, 6 on 15 November, 7 on 30 November, 8 on 15 December and 9 on 31 December.
According to the CRT, unlinked lines are suspended temporarily within 72 hours of their deadline; suspension doesn't mean losing the number, and service resumes once the line is linked. While suspended, a line can only reach emergency services, citizen support and its own operator and receive seismic alerts, so WhatsApp codes sent to it by SMS would stop arriving. If your WhatsApp still sits on a Mexican chip of your own, link it with your operator. This summarises official bulletins as reported on those dates and is not legal advice; SMSCreation doesn't sell Mexican SIM cards.
Free Mexican inboxes, a one-time code, or a +52 you keep
Pages that hand out free Mexican numbers display every incoming SMS publicly. Whoever opens the page after you sees your WhatsApp code, and WhatsApp's rules only let you register a number you own. They're not a home for the WhatsApp your customers or family will use.
Buying a single code is cheaper, and it's the right call for a one-time sign-up you'll drop. WhatsApp isn't usually one of those: the next phone or a reinstall sends a code to the same +52 number, which a single-code service will long since have passed on.
When the code doesn't reach your +52 number
- Look for an extra 1 after +52; WhatsApp should show exactly ten digits.
- Wait for the full timer; WhatsApp mentions up to 10 minutes for the SMS.
- Tap “Call me” for an automated voice code; incoming calls are unlimited.
- “You have guessed the code too many times.” means a forced pause that WhatsApp says can't be shortened.
- If a Mexican chip you used before is suspended for missing its linking deadline, codes to that line won't arrive until it's linked. Move WhatsApp to a working number with Change number while the account is still open on your phone.
Why it works with WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram & Google
Apps check more than the digits: they look up the line type, the country format and whether the number can actually receive their code. Every SMSCreation number is a real mobile number in its country's official format — not a VoIP line — so it passes those checks the same way a SIM in your pocket does.
And we stand behind it with a 7-day replacement guarantee: if your number doesn't work with WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram, Google or any app you need, we replace it free with a new number in the same country — or refund 100% if you prefer.
- Non-VoIP, real mobile line type — line-type checks see an ordinary SIM number, not a VoIP line
- Official country format with the right country code, prefix and digit count
- Unlimited incoming SMS and calls — codes arrive by text or through the “call me” option
- Private to you — never listed on public SMS sites, so it isn't flagged or rate-limited
- Yours for as long as you want — re-verification and account recovery keep working
Price, keeping the +52 number and the 7-day guarantee
Mexican numbers start from $1.80 a month on the yearly plan, $21.60 billed yearly. Unlimited incoming SMS and calls are included, plus 500 outgoing texts and 1,000 outgoing minutes a month. Auto-renew from your wallet keeps the +52 number in your account for as long as you like.
If WhatsApp refuses the Mexican number within 7 days of activation, you'll get a replacement +52 number free, or 100% of your money back. If you haven't used the number for any call or SMS, it's refundable within 7 days, no questions asked.

Questions
Do I still add a 1 after +52 for a Mexican WhatsApp number?
No. Since August 2019 Mexican numbers are ten digits with no 1 after +52. Type +52 and the ten digits; the clean ten-digit version is the format the 2019 plan set.
Is a free Mexican number OK for WhatsApp?
Not for an account you care about. Free +52 numbers on public sites show the code to everyone, and WhatsApp only lets you register a number you own. A private Mexican number you keep is safer.
My Mexican chip could be suspended under the 2026 linking rules. What happens to my WhatsApp?
WhatsApp usually keeps running on your current phone, but any new registration code sent to a suspended line won't arrive. The CRT reported that linking the line with your operator, using an official ID with CURP, reactivates it. Alternatively, move WhatsApp to another number with Settings > Account > Change number while the account is still open.
Can I use a Mexican WhatsApp number from the United States?
Yes. WhatsApp sends the code to the +52 number and you read it in the web dashboard, so being in Texas or California changes nothing.
Why does WhatsApp say my Mexican number is not valid?
Usually it's an extra 1, 044 or 045. WhatsApp expects +52 and exactly ten digits.
Can I use WhatsApp Business with a +52 number?
Yes. WhatsApp Business verifies with the same six-digit code by SMS or call, and can run next to your personal WhatsApp as long as each app uses its own number.
Will the number work with WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram and Google?
Yes — guaranteed. It's a real mobile number with unlimited incoming SMS and calls, so verification codes arrive by SMS or voice call. If it doesn't work with WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram, Google or any app you need, we replace it free within 7 days — or refund 100%.
