How Apple Account verification works

Apple Account (formerly Apple ID) uses a trusted phone number for two-factor authentication: when you sign in on a new device or browser, Apple can send a six-digit verification code to it by text message or phone call.

Because SMSCreation numbers are real mobile numbers, Apple Account treats them like any other phone: the code is delivered to your number and shows up in your dashboard inbox straight away.

02

Why it works with WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram & Google

Apps check more than the digits: they look up the line type, the country format and whether the number can actually receive their code. Every SMSCreation number is a real mobile number in its country's official format — not a VoIP line — so it passes those checks the same way a SIM in your pocket does.

And we stand behind it with a 7-day replacement guarantee: if your number doesn't work with WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram, Google or any app you need, we replace it free with a new number in the same country — or refund 100% if you prefer.

  • Non-VoIP, real mobile line type — line-type checks see an ordinary SIM number, not a VoIP line
  • Official country format with the right country code, prefix and digit count
  • Unlimited incoming SMS and calls — codes arrive by text or through the “call me” option
  • Private to you — never listed on public SMS sites, so it isn't flagged or rate-limited
  • Yours for as long as you want — re-verification and account recovery keep working

Apple Account verification details

Apple ID is now called Apple Account, and you still sign in with the same email address or phone number. Two-factor authentication is the default for most accounts. When you sign in on a new device or on the web, you need your password plus a six-digit verification code. It appears automatically on your trusted devices or is sent to your trusted phone number as a text message or phone call. To get it by phone, choose “Didn't Get a Code?” or “Can't get to your devices?” on the code screen. After the first sign-in, a device asks again only if you sign out completely, erase it, or change your password for security reasons.

Apple requires at least one trusted phone number to use two-factor authentication. It also recommends adding a number that isn't associated with your iPhone, because if the iPhone is your only trusted device and holds your only trusted number, losing it cuts you off from codes. That's the natural job for a second real mobile number. When you create an account in the App Store or on a Mac, Apple asks you to confirm a phone number to help verify your identity and recover the account. In China mainland it may require a +86 number.

Common Apple Account problems and fixes

  • No code appears on your devices → on the verification screen choose “Didn't Get a Code?” or “Can't get to your devices?” and have it sent to your trusted phone number by text or call. See our guide “Verification code not received” if nothing arrives.
  • You can't reach any trusted number → Apple says the fastest fix, if the loss is temporary, is to wait until you have access again. Otherwise choose “Can't use [phone number]” and start account recovery.
  • Account recovery is taking days → that's by design. Apple says recovery can take several days or longer and contacting Apple Support can't shorten it. A second trusted number is the easiest way to avoid it.
  • You can't remove your old number → you must have at least one trusted number, and a single trusted number can't be removed. Add the new number first, then remove the old one.
  • Creating an account in China mainland → Apple may require a +86 phone number there for verification. A number from another country won't meet that rule.

Your phone number does not set your App Store region

A phone number on your Apple Account is a trusted number for verification codes only; it doesn't set or change your App Store country or region. You change the region in Settings → [your name] → Media & Purchases → Country/Region, or at account.apple.com → Personal Information → Country/Region.

Apple asks you first to spend any remaining Apple Account balance, cancel subscriptions that block a country or region change, and have a valid payment method for the new country or region. So a number from another country is useful for receiving your two-factor codes there, but the store region is a separate setting.

Tips for Apple Account

  • Apple suggests adding a trusted number that isn't tied to your iPhone, so codes still reach you if the phone is lost.
  • Add it under Settings → [your name] → Sign-In & Security → Two-Factor Authentication → Add Trusted Phone Number.
  • Keep at least one trusted number you control — losing all of them means a multi-day account recovery.

Questions

Does an SMSCreation number work with Apple Account?

In most cases, yes: our numbers are real mobile numbers, so Apple Account can send its code to them by SMS — and by call where Apple Account offers it. Apple Account's own sign-up rules still apply, so check the verification details on this page before you buy.

Which country should I choose for Apple Account?

Any country works. Pick the country where you want your contacts to see a local number, or where the service you're joining expects one.

Will the number work with WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram and Google?

Yes — guaranteed. It's a real mobile number with unlimited incoming SMS and calls, so verification codes arrive by SMS or voice call. If it doesn't work with WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram, Google or any app you need, we replace it free within 7 days — or refund 100%.

Can I keep using the same number for Apple Account?

Yes. The number is yours for as long as you keep it renewed, so you can receive codes again for new devices or account recovery.

What if I don't need the number after all?

You're covered by our 7-day replacement guarantee — if the number doesn't work with WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram or Google, we replace it free or refund 100%; plus a no-questions-asked refund if you haven't used it for any call or SMS — request a refund within 7 days of activation.

How much does it cost?

From $1.80 a month on the yearly plan (billed yearly at $21.60/year). Every plan includes unlimited incoming SMS and calls, 500 outgoing SMS and 1,000 minutes.

Can I add a second phone number to my Apple Account?

Yes. Apple recommends it: if you have more than one number, add one that isn't associated with your iPhone as an extra trusted phone number. Go to Settings → [your name] → Sign-In & Security → Two-Factor Authentication → Add Trusted Phone Number.

Does Apple send codes by call as well as text?

Yes. If you don't have a trusted device handy, Apple can send the six-digit code to your trusted phone number as a text message or a phone call. Both reach our numbers: incoming SMS and calls are unlimited.

Is Apple ID the same as Apple Account?

Yes. Apple renamed Apple ID to Apple Account. You still sign in with the same email address or phone number and password, and trusted phone numbers work the same way.

Does my phone number set my App Store country?

No. The number is a trusted number for two-factor codes. Your App Store country or region is a separate account setting, and Apple lists what you need before changing it, including a payment method for the new country or region.
