A VRNum alternative when you need more than six countries

VRNum and SMSCreation look similar at first glance: both let you keep a number on a subscription, both skip identity checks, and both take crypto. The differences are in how many countries you can pick from, what you can do with the number once you have it, and what happens when something goes wrong.

VRNum sells numbers it describes as virtual numbers sourced from real mobile networks rather than VoIP, in a short list of countries, plus a separate one-time activation product aimed at developers and resellers. SMSCreation sells real mobile numbers in 181 countries, each one two-way, managed in a web dashboard.

This page compares the two using only what VRNum publishes on its own site, FAQ, terms and refund policy, and says plainly when VRNum is the better pick.

01

The short, fair answer

If your accounts are in the US, the UK, Canada, the Netherlands, Israel or Ukraine and you want to wire numbers into your own software through a REST API, VRNum is built with that in mind. If you need a number from anywhere else, want to send texts and place calls from the number, or want a written replacement guarantee for the apps you verify, SMSCreation is the closer fit.

Both services let you keep a number for as long as you keep paying, so the choice is less about temporary versus permanent and more about coverage, features and after-sale terms.

02

What VRNum is

VRNum's site presents two products. The first is a dedicated number that is assigned to your account for the length of a monthly or yearly subscription. Its terms say numbers come through licensed telecom partners and are leased rather than owned, that auto-renew can pay for the next period from your wallet a few days before expiry, and that a number is released if the renewal can't be paid.

The second is a one-time activation: a number assigned to a single order that stays live for 20 minutes to receive a code. VRNum documents this product as an OTP Verification API, and its page describes it mainly for resellers building their own storefronts. If you cancel before a code arrives, the page says the amount goes back to your wallet.

Its country page lists six countries: the United States, the Netherlands, Canada, Israel, the United Kingdom and Ukraine. Sign-up needs an email address, and VRNum says it asks for no identity documents. Its terms list cryptocurrency payments, naming Bitcoin, USDT, Ethereum and Litecoin, while its FAQ also mentions other routes such as cards where available.

How refunds and guarantees differ

VRNum's refund policy treats an assigned number as a final sale. It lists a few situations that qualify for a credit — for example a number that receives no SMS at all, a payment that didn't lead to a number, a duplicate charge or the wrong country — and asks you to report them within 24 hours. Approved amounts are credited to your VRNum wallet in USD rather than sent back as crypto, and the policy excludes cases such as a third-party platform refusing the number.

SMSCreation's guarantee is written around the apps themselves. If the number doesn't work with WhatsApp, Telegram, Google or another service that verifies by SMS or call, you get a free replacement number in the same country within 7 days of activation, or a 100% refund if you prefer. Separately, if the number hasn't been used for any call or SMS, you can ask for a refund within 7 days with no questions asked.

05

When VRNum may suit you better

  • You are a developer or reseller and want REST endpoints and webhooks to order, renew and cancel numbers automatically — SMSCreation has no API.
  • You only need a single code once, and a 20-minute activation is enough.
  • All your accounts sit in the US, the UK, Canada, the Netherlands, Israel or Ukraine.
  • You want to pay with Bitcoin, Ethereum or Litecoin rather than a stablecoin.
  • You run your own storefront for verification numbers — VRNum's one-time activation product is documented with resellers in mind.
06

When SMSCreation fits better

  • You need a number from one of the many countries outside VRNum's list — Germany, France, Brazil, India, the Philippines, Nigeria and the rest of our 181 countries — at the same price everywhere.
  • You want the number to be two-way: 500 outgoing SMS and 1,000 outgoing call minutes a month from the browser, plus unlimited incoming SMS and calls.
  • You want a replacement guarantee tied to real apps such as WhatsApp, Telegram and Google, with a 100% refund option.
  • You want a simple web dashboard for one or a few numbers rather than an API-first product.
  • You pay in USDT or USDC and want to pick from Tron, Polygon, BNB Smart Chain, Base or Solana.
07

Renewals: don't let a number lapse

With any subscription number, the risk is the same: if the renewal fails, the number can go back into circulation and you lose the route to your account's codes. VRNum's terms say a number is released if the wallet can't cover the renewal. SMSCreation also renews from your wallet balance, so the habit that protects you is identical on both — keep enough balance for the next period and check the renewal date in your dashboard.

If you are moving accounts between providers, finish the move well before either renewal date so no account is left pointing at a number you no longer hold.

08

How to switch from VRNum

  1. 01List the accounts that use your VRNum number and note the renewal date of each subscription.
  2. 02Sign up at SMSCreation with an email address and a password — no phone number and no ID.
  3. 03Choose the country that matches each account and pick a number (the first two and last two digits show as XX until activation).
  4. 04Pay in USDT or USDC on Tron, Polygon, BNB Smart Chain, Base or Solana, per order or from a wallet balance.
  5. 05In each account, add the new number, confirm it with the code that appears in your dashboard inbox, then remove the old number.
  6. 06Turn off auto-renew on the VRNum number only after every account has moved, and turn on auto-renew at SMSCreation.
09

Why it works with WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram & Google

Apps check more than the digits: they look up the line type, the country format and whether the number can actually receive their code. Every SMSCreation number is a real mobile number in its country's official format — not a VoIP line — so it passes those checks the same way a SIM in your pocket does.

And we stand behind it with a 7-day replacement guarantee: if your number doesn't work with WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram, Google or any app you need, we replace it free with a new number in the same country — or refund 100% if you prefer.

  • Non-VoIP, real mobile line type — line-type checks see an ordinary SIM number, not a VoIP line
  • Official country format with the right country code, prefix and digit count
  • Unlimited incoming SMS and calls — codes arrive by text or through the “call me” option
  • Private to you — never listed on public SMS sites, so it isn't flagged or rate-limited
  • Yours for as long as you want — re-verification and account recovery keep working
10

Price, keeping the number and the 7-day guarantee

SMSCreation costs from $1.80 a month on the yearly plan ($21.60 billed yearly), the same in every one of our 181 countries. The number stays yours for as long as you renew it, with auto-renew from your wallet balance. If it doesn't work with WhatsApp, Telegram, Google or another app that verifies by SMS or call, you get a free replacement in the same country within 7 days of activation, or a 100% refund — and there's a no-questions-asked refund within 7 days if the number hasn't been used for any call or SMS.
