An OnlineSIM alternative for numbers that stay yours

OnlineSIM has been in the SMS-receiving business for more than a decade, according to its home page. It offers numbers you use in your online account without a SIM card, for anything from a single code to a longer rental that receives texts from any service.

SMSCreation serves a narrower goal: one real mobile number, in one of 181 countries, that stays with you for as long as you renew it — two-way, with a replacement guarantee for the apps you verify.

This page compares the two using only what OnlineSIM publishes on its official site, terms and refund policy, and points out where OnlineSIM is the better choice.

01

The short, fair answer

For a quick code from a site you won't return to, OnlineSIM's short-term numbers are designed to be fast and cheap to use once. For an account you intend to keep — one that will ask for codes again on a new phone or at a password reset — the number needs to stay yours, and that is what SMSCreation sells.

OnlineSIM's own FAQ warns that numbers can't be reused after a rental ends and that operators may hand them to new customers a couple of months later, advising against tying payment details or sensitive data to them. That advice is a good summary of when a number you keep is worth it.

02

What OnlineSIM is

OnlineSIM's home page describes three ways to get a number. A one-time number receives unlimited SMS from one chosen service for 15 minutes. A short rent, per its FAQ, lasts from 10 minutes to an hour depending on the country, again for a single service. A longer rental receives texts from any service and can be extended while it runs. The site lists more than 110 countries and also has a free module of shared public numbers, which it notes may already be registered with popular services.

Its terms, published by Online Connection Tech Pte. Ltd. of Singapore, say the numbers belong to third-party providers and are made available to you on the platform. You register with an email address (the site also offers social logins), and the terms reserve the right to ask for identification at any time, before or after a purchase.

You fund a balance and pay per number, with prices set by country and by type of use. The terms mention bank transfer and electronic or digital-asset payments, and an OnlineSIM help article lists cards, cryptocurrency and phone balance as top-up options. An API is documented for developers.

Refunds and guarantees, side by side

On a short-term number, OnlineSIM's home page says that if the text doesn't come you can close the number and order another without the balance being charged. Refunds of money already in your balance are handled differently: its refund policy says they are not automatic, are reviewed case by case, go back to the original payment method where possible, and exclude third-party fees and network outcomes such as a service blocking or rejecting the number.

SMSCreation's promise is attached to the number itself. If it doesn't work with WhatsApp, Telegram, Google or another app that verifies by SMS or call, you get a free replacement in the same country within 7 days of activation, or a 100% refund if you prefer. If you haven't used the number for any call or SMS, you can get a refund within 7 days with no questions asked.

05

When OnlineSIM may suit you better

  • You need one code, once, and a 15-minute number is all you need.
  • You want to try things out first with a free public number and don't mind that others can see it.
  • You want to pay by card or another non-crypto method.
  • You want an API to request numbers from your own software — SMSCreation has none.
  • You need a short rental that receives texts from several services for a few days, not a number for the long term.
06

When SMSCreation fits better

  • The account matters and will ask for codes again, so the number must not go back into circulation.
  • You want a private number that only you can see, with codes arriving in your own dashboard inbox.
  • You want to reply and call: 500 outgoing SMS and 1,000 outgoing call minutes a month, plus unlimited incoming SMS and calls.
  • You want no identity checks at any stage — SMSCreation never asks for ID, a selfie or proof of address.
  • You want the same price in all 181 countries and a written 7-day replacement guarantee.

What happens when a rented number goes back

When a short-term or rented number returns to the pool, the next person to hold it can receive codes meant for the accounts still linked to it. That's why OnlineSIM itself cautions against attaching payment methods or sensitive data to its numbers. If you already used a rented number for an account you now depend on, sign in and replace the number before the rental ends; after that, recovery by SMS may no longer be possible.

How to switch from OnlineSIM

  1. 01List the accounts linked to your OnlineSIM rental and check when the rental ends.
  2. 02Sign up at SMSCreation with an email address and a password — no phone number and no ID.
  3. 03Choose the country that matches each account and pick a number (the first two and last two digits show as XX until activation).
  4. 04Pay in USDT or USDC on Tron, Polygon, BNB Smart Chain, Base or Solana, per order or from a wallet balance.
  5. 05In each account, add the new number, confirm it with the code that appears in your dashboard inbox, then remove the rented number.
  6. 06Keep the rental running until every account has moved, and turn on auto-renew at SMSCreation.

Why it works with WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram & Google

Apps check more than the digits: they look up the line type, the country format and whether the number can actually receive their code. Every SMSCreation number is a real mobile number in its country's official format — not a VoIP line — so it passes those checks the same way a SIM in your pocket does.

And we stand behind it with a 7-day replacement guarantee: if your number doesn't work with WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram, Google or any app you need, we replace it free with a new number in the same country — or refund 100% if you prefer.

  • Non-VoIP, real mobile line type — line-type checks see an ordinary SIM number, not a VoIP line
  • Official country format with the right country code, prefix and digit count
  • Unlimited incoming SMS and calls — codes arrive by text or through the “call me” option
  • Private to you — never listed on public SMS sites, so it isn't flagged or rate-limited
  • Yours for as long as you want — re-verification and account recovery keep working

Price, keeping the number and the 7-day guarantee

SMSCreation costs from $1.80 a month on the yearly plan ($21.60 billed yearly), the same in every one of our 181 countries. The number stays yours for as long as you renew it, with auto-renew from your wallet balance. If it doesn't work with WhatsApp, Telegram, Google or another app that verifies by SMS or call, you get a free replacement in the same country within 7 days of activation, or a 100% refund — and there's a no-questions-asked refund within 7 days if the number hasn't been used for any call or SMS.
