Every number includes unlimited incoming SMS, 500 outgoing SMS and 1,000 outgoing minutes a month, and unlimited incoming calls — from $1.80 a month on the yearly plan, with a 7-day replacement guarantee — if the number doesn't work with WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram or Google, we replace it free or refund 100%; plus a no-questions-asked refund if you haven't used it for any call or SMS.
How Zoho Mail verification works
Zoho Mail asks for a mobile number at sign-up and sends a confirmation code to verify you own it. Only verified accounts can send email, and the number can later be used for sign-in, recovery or SMS-based two-factor authentication.
Because SMSCreation numbers are real mobile numbers, Zoho Mail treats them like any other phone: the code is delivered to your number and shows up in your dashboard inbox straight away.
Why it works with WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram & Google
Apps check more than the digits: they look up the line type, the country format and whether the number can actually receive their code. Every SMSCreation number is a real mobile number in its country's official format — not a VoIP line — so it passes those checks the same way a SIM in your pocket does.
And we stand behind it with a 7-day replacement guarantee: if your number doesn't work with WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram, Google or any app you need, we replace it free with a new number in the same country — or refund 100% if you prefer.
- Non-VoIP, real mobile line type — line-type checks see an ordinary SIM number, not a VoIP line
- Official country format with the right country code, prefix and digit count
- Unlimited incoming SMS and calls — codes arrive by text or through the “call me” option
- Private to you — never listed on public SMS sites, so it isn't flagged or rate-limited
- Yours for as long as you want — re-verification and account recovery keep working
Zoho Mail phone verification details
Zoho Mail asks for a mobile number when you sign up, including for a personal username@zohomail.com account. You enter the number and then re-enter it to catch mistakes, and Zoho sends a confirmation code to prove you own it. Zoho says the phone must be accessible and active to receive messages during sign-up, and that only verified accounts can send email. Personal users can also log in with the phone number they gave at sign-up.
The registered number can later turn on two-factor authentication or serve as your recovery number for password resets. Zoho won't let you use the same number both as the recovery phone and for SMS-based TFA, so you don't get locked out if you lose it. A Zoho account has one primary mobile number, used for signing in, and can have several recovery numbers. You manage them at accounts.zoho.com under Profile → Mobile Numbers, where each new number is confirmed with an OTP.

Common Zoho Mail verification problems and fixes
- You typed the wrong number at sign-up → you won't receive the code. Zoho's steps for business sign-ups: log in to mailadmin.zoho.com with the wrong number as the username and your password, click the Click Here link, choose the country code and enter the right number, click Update my mobile, then Resend Code and Verify my mobile.
- "Invalid email address" when you sign in → Zoho says this can happen if you haven't verified your mobile number. Sign in with the mobile number instead, and you'll be taken to the verification page.
- "Email address belongs to a different deployment region" → the domain or email already exists in another Zoho data centre (US, EU, IN, CN, AU or JP). Use a different address or domain.
- You can't send email yet → Zoho only lets verified accounts send, so finish the mobile verification first.
- The code never arrives → check the country code and the number, then use Resend Code. Our guide "Verification code not received" covers other causes.
Primary and recovery numbers on a Zoho account
Zoho separates two roles. The primary mobile number is the one you sign in with, and a personal Zoho Mail user can log in with the number given at sign-up. Recovery numbers, and you can add several, are there for password resets. Each new number is confirmed with an OTP at accounts.zoho.com → Profile → Mobile Numbers, and Set as Primary number promotes one to the sign-in role.
Zoho also blocks one combination on purpose: the same number can't be both your recovery phone and your SMS-based TFA phone. Losing that one line would otherwise cost you both the second factor and the way back in.
Why a Zoho Mail account can't send until the phone is verified
Zoho only lets verified accounts send email, and the mobile step is the verification. You type the number twice at sign-up to catch typos, and Zoho wants the phone active to receive messages. Sign-ins that fail with "Invalid email address" can mean exactly this: sign in with the mobile number and Zoho takes you to the verification page. Zoho also keeps separate data centres (US, EU, IN, CN, AU and JP), and an address already living in one region is refused in another.

Questions
Does an SMSCreation number work with Zoho Mail?
In most cases, yes: our numbers are real mobile numbers, so Zoho Mail can send its code to them by SMS — and by call where Zoho Mail offers it. Zoho Mail's own sign-up rules still apply, so check the verification details on this page before you buy.
Which country should I choose for Zoho Mail?
Any country works. Pick the country where you want your contacts to see a local number, or where the service you're joining expects one.
Will the number work with WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram and Google?
Yes — guaranteed. It's a real mobile number with unlimited incoming SMS and calls, so verification codes arrive by SMS or voice call. If it doesn't work with WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram, Google or any app you need, we replace it free within 7 days — or refund 100%.
Can I keep using the same number for Zoho Mail?
Yes. The number is yours for as long as you keep it renewed, so you can receive codes again for new devices or account recovery.
What if I don't need the number after all?
You're covered by our 7-day replacement guarantee — if the number doesn't work with WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram or Google, we replace it free or refund 100%; plus a no-questions-asked refund if you haven't used it for any call or SMS — request a refund within 7 days of activation.
How much does it cost?
From $1.80 a month on the yearly plan (billed yearly at $21.60/year). Every plan includes unlimited incoming SMS and calls, 500 outgoing SMS and 1,000 minutes.
Does Zoho Mail need a phone number to sign up?
Yes. Zoho asks for a mobile number and sends a confirmation code to verify you own it. Zoho says the phone must be active and able to receive messages during sign-up, and only verified accounts can send email.
Can I use the same number for Zoho recovery and two-factor codes?
No. Zoho doesn't let one number be both your recovery phone and your SMS-based TFA number, so you aren't locked out if you lose it. Use two different numbers.
How do I change my primary Zoho mobile number?
At accounts.zoho.com, go to Profile → Mobile Numbers, click Add Mobile Number and verify it with the OTP. Then hover over it, click Set as Primary number and click Update.
Can I use the same number for Zoho TFA and recovery?
No. Zoho won't let one number be both the recovery number and the SMS-based TFA number, so use a different number for each.
Why can't I send email from my new Zoho Mail account?
Zoho only allows verified accounts to send email. Finish mobile verification first; sign in with the mobile number if you see "Invalid email address".
