A real phone number
for Yahoo.
Get a real mobile number for Yahoo in any of 181 countries. Receive the Yahoo verification code by SMS or call, use the number for a Yahoo Mail account with its own recovery number, separate from your personal SIM, and keep it for as long as you want.
Every number includes unlimited incoming SMS, 500 outgoing SMS and 1,000 outgoing minutes a month, and unlimited incoming calls — from $1.80 a month on the yearly plan, with a 7-day replacement guarantee — if the number doesn't work with WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram or Google, we replace it free or refund 100%; plus a no-questions-asked refund if you haven't used it for any call or SMS.
How Yahoo verification works
Yahoo asks for a mobile number when you sign up and sends a verification code by text; it also uses that number for sign-in checks, two-step verification and password resets. In some countries it offers WhatsApp instead of SMS.
Because SMSCreation numbers are real mobile numbers, Yahoo treats them like any other phone: the code is delivered to your number and shows up in your dashboard inbox straight away.
Why it works with WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram & Google
Apps check more than the digits: they look up the line type, the country format and whether the number can actually receive their code. Every SMSCreation number is a real mobile number in its country's official format — not a VoIP line — so it passes those checks the same way a SIM in your pocket does.
And we stand behind it with a 7-day replacement guarantee: if your number doesn't work with WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram, Google or any app you need, we replace it free with a new number in the same country — or refund 100% if you prefer.
- Non-VoIP, real mobile line type — line-type checks see an ordinary SIM number, not a VoIP line
- Official country format with the right country code, prefix and digit count
- Unlimited incoming SMS and calls — codes arrive by text or through the “call me” option
- Private to you — never listed on public SMS sites, so it isn't flagged or rate-limited
- Yours for as long as you want — re-verification and account recovery keep working
Yahoo verification details
Yahoo's help centre says signing up takes a password, a date of birth and a mobile number, and you follow on-screen prompts to verify that number. Yahoo texts a verification code when you create an account and again when you make security changes. It can also send codes when you sign in from a new place, for password resets, and for two-step verification by text or call. For that last one, Yahoo notes the number it contacts you from may be different each time. SMS codes can only go to mobile numbers, so landlines fail.
In some countries where texts may not be available, Yahoo offers WhatsApp as an alternative for account creation, phone verification and two-step verification. That only works if the number is registered on WhatsApp. The recovery number carries real weight. Yahoo says that if you forget your password and your recovery info is wrong, you'll have to create a new account. So keep the number active on your account, and remember that unlinking it through the Sign-in Helper means you can't add that same number back.

Common Yahoo problems and fixes
- The code doesn't arrive → click Resend within the first five minutes, and make sure the number is a mobile number and typed correctly. Our guide “Verification code not received” covers more.
- “Check your WhatsApp account” → Yahoo can't send to WhatsApp on that number. The number must be registered on WhatsApp and match the one in your WhatsApp profile. Otherwise choose another option.
- Codes come from different numbers → that's normal for two-step verification by phone. Yahoo says the number it contacts you from may be different each time.
- No authenticator option → Yahoo only shows it once your account has at least two recovery methods. Add a recovery phone and email first.
- Forgot password with outdated recovery info → Yahoo says you'll have to create a new account. Keep your recovery number current and renewed.
How the phone fits into Yahoo's other sign-in options
Yahoo manages verification on the Account Security page, under “Ways of signing in”. For phone-based two-step verification, select 2-step verification, choose Your phone number, and follow the prompts. At sign-in you enter your password, then the code Yahoo texts or reads to you, then click Verify. If the option is missing, Yahoo says to create a password first. If you sign in with a Yahoo Account Key, you have to disable it before two-step verification can be enabled.
The phone method is also what unlocks the stronger ones. Yahoo shows the authenticator-app choice only when the account has at least two recovery methods, so a recovery phone number plus a recovery email gets you there. Yahoo lists Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, LastPass Authenticator and Authy. A physical security key is the other option, and it then has to approve each password sign-in.
Yahoo two-step verification and mail apps
- With two-step on, Yahoo can also send a push notification to any Yahoo app on your devices.
- Reading Yahoo Mail in a third-party mail program? Yahoo has you generate an app password for it.
- Turning two-step off: Account Security → Ways of signing in → 2-Step Verification → toggle Off → Turn off.
- Where texts aren't available in a country, Yahoo may offer WhatsApp for sign-up, phone verification and two-step codes instead.

Questions
Does an SMSCreation number work with Yahoo?
In most cases, yes: our numbers are real mobile numbers, so Yahoo can send its code to them by SMS — and by call where Yahoo offers it. Yahoo's own sign-up rules still apply, so check the verification details on this page before you buy.
Which country should I choose for Yahoo?
Any country works. Pick the country where you want your contacts to see a local number, or where the service you're joining expects one.
Will the number work with WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram and Google?
Yes — guaranteed. It's a real mobile number with unlimited incoming SMS and calls, so verification codes arrive by SMS or voice call. If it doesn't work with WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram, Google or any app you need, we replace it free within 7 days — or refund 100%.
Can I keep using the same number for Yahoo?
Yes. The number is yours for as long as you keep it renewed, so you can receive codes again for new devices or account recovery.
What if I don't need the number after all?
You're covered by our 7-day replacement guarantee — if the number doesn't work with WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram or Google, we replace it free or refund 100%; plus a no-questions-asked refund if you haven't used it for any call or SMS — request a refund within 7 days of activation.
How much does it cost?
From $1.80 a month on the yearly plan (billed yearly at $21.60/year). Every plan includes unlimited incoming SMS and calls, 500 outgoing SMS and 1,000 minutes.
Does Yahoo require a phone number to sign up?
Yes. Yahoo's help centre says you'll need a password, a date of birth and a mobile number, and you verify the number through on-screen prompts. A separate real mobile number meets that requirement without using your personal SIM.
Can Yahoo send the code by call?
For two-step verification, yes: Yahoo sends a text or calls you with a new code at sign-in. For other checks, codes are sent by text, or by WhatsApp in countries where it's offered.
What happens if I remove my Yahoo recovery number?
Deleting it on the Account Security page lets you add it back later. Unlinking it through the Sign-in Helper doesn't: Yahoo says you won't be able to add that same number back again.
Why can't I turn on Yahoo two-step verification?
Yahoo requires a password on the account first, and if you use a Yahoo Account Key you must disable it before enabling two-step verification.
Why is Yahoo's authenticator option missing?
Yahoo shows it only when the account has at least two recovery methods. Adding a recovery phone number and a recovery email covers that.
