Spanish number for WhatsApp: a real +34 mobile that you keep

In Spain the first message to a landlord, estate agent, clinic or plumber usually goes by WhatsApp, not email. People buying property on the coast, students starting in Madrid, remote workers and sellers with Spanish customers look for a Spanish number for WhatsApp so that contact happens on a +34 line.

You don't have to wait for a Spanish SIM to get one. A Spanish mobile from SMSCreation is set up online with only an email, with no NIE or passport, and WhatsApp's six-digit code appears in your web dashboard.

01

Why a Spanish number on WhatsApp

Spanish small businesses treat WhatsApp as their front desk. A +34 number gets a reply from an agency in Valencia or a host in Seville the way a local customer would, while a foreign number can sit unanswered or be mistaken for spam.

Spanish banks, delivery and ride apps, second-hand marketplaces and parking or transport apps also confirm accounts by SMS to a Spanish mobile, so the number behind your WhatsApp can take those codes as well, all in one inbox.

  • A +34 contact for agents, landlords and Spanish clients
  • SMS codes from Spanish apps on the same line
  • Keep your Spanish WhatsApp after the move or the season ends

Putting a Spanish number into WhatsApp

Spain has a closed numbering plan with no trunk prefix. A mobile is nine digits starting with 6 or 7, written 612 34 56 78 at home and +34 612 34 56 78 abroad, so there's nothing to strip. In WhatsApp choose Spain, keep +34, and type 612345678. Spanish landlines start with 8 or 9 instead, and a mobile number on its own doesn't tell you where in Spain its owner is.

What WhatsApp checks for a +34 number

Spain gets no special treatment in WhatsApp's help center. Registration needs a six-digit code delivered by SMS; when the timer expires, “Call me” offers the code by automated voice call. WhatsApp also lists VoIP, toll-free, premium-rate and universal access numbers as unsupported, and accepts landlines only on the WhatsApp Business app, which is why a 6 or 7 mobile is the right line and a 9 landline isn't, at least for a personal account.

WhatsApp will want a new code later as well, for each new phone or reinstall, always to the same +34 number. Email re-registration only exists for existing accounts with a verified email, so the Spanish mobile remains the dependable route back in.

WhatsApp on a Spanish number, step by step

  1. 01Create your account with an email, choose Spain and pick a listed +34 number; the masked XX digits are assigned when it activates.
  2. 02Pay in USDT or USDC on any supported network and wait for the on-chain match; the full nine digits then show.
  3. 03Open WhatsApp, tap “Agree and continue” and pick Spain as the country.
  4. 04Type the nine digits, e.g. 612 34 56 78, without a 0, and check the number on screen.
  5. 05Read the six-digit code in your dashboard inbox, or tap “Call me” after the timer for a voice call.
  6. 06Set a password and recovery email via Settings > Account > Two-step verification.

Spanish format pitfalls

  • A 0 inserted by a form or by habit makes ten digits; a Spanish number never has one.
  • 0034 at the start of a copied number repeats the code if WhatsApp already shows +34.
  • A mobile number doesn't show where in Spain its owner is, so ask about their local time before scheduling a call.
  • Opening hours vary from business to business, so check them before you expect a quick WhatsApp reply.
  • Numbers beginning 8 or 9 are fixed lines; for WhatsApp you want a 6 or 7 mobile.
07

Free public inbox, a one-time code, or a +34 number you keep

Free Spanish numbers on public receive-SMS pages are seen by everyone who opens them. Your WhatsApp code becomes public, and WhatsApp's rules only let you register a number you own. For the WhatsApp your landlord or clients will use, they're the wrong tool.

A pay-once code is genuinely cheaper if all you need is one registration you'll never return to. WhatsApp tends to call you back: change phones and it sends the code to the same Spanish number again. If that number now belongs to another buyer, recovering the account becomes very hard.

08

If the WhatsApp code doesn't reach your Spanish number

  • Confirm WhatsApp shows +34 and nine digits beginning with 6 or 7.
  • Let the countdown run; WhatsApp says the SMS may take up to 10 minutes.
  • Choose “Call me” next; incoming calls are unlimited on every plan.
  • A two-step verification screen on a newly activated number means a previous holder may have turned it on. WhatsApp's reset takes days, so contact support for a replacement under the guarantee.
  • Our verification-code-not-received guide lists the remaining checks.

Why it works with WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram & Google

Apps check more than the digits: they look up the line type, the country format and whether the number can actually receive their code. Every SMSCreation number is a real mobile number in its country's official format — not a VoIP line — so it passes those checks the same way a SIM in your pocket does.

And we stand behind it with a 7-day replacement guarantee: if your number doesn't work with WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram, Google or any app you need, we replace it free with a new number in the same country — or refund 100% if you prefer.

  • Non-VoIP, real mobile line type — line-type checks see an ordinary SIM number, not a VoIP line
  • Official country format with the right country code, prefix and digit count
  • Unlimited incoming SMS and calls — codes arrive by text or through the “call me” option
  • Private to you — never listed on public SMS sites, so it isn't flagged or rate-limited
  • Yours for as long as you want — re-verification and account recovery keep working

Price, keeping the +34 number and the 7-day guarantee

Spanish numbers start from $1.80 a month on the yearly plan ($21.60 billed yearly). Incoming SMS and calls are unlimited, and every month brings 500 outgoing texts and 1,000 outgoing minutes for reaching Spanish contacts directly. Leave auto-renew on and the +34 number stays in your account.

If WhatsApp won't take the Spanish number within 7 days of activation, we'll give you a different +34 number free, or a 100% refund. An unused number, with no call or SMS, can be refunded within that week with no questions.

Questions

Is a free Spanish number OK for WhatsApp?

Not for an account you'll keep. Free +34 numbers on public sites show your code to anyone, and WhatsApp only lets you register a number you own. A private Spanish mobile is the safer option.

Do I put a 0 before a Spanish mobile in WhatsApp?

No. Spain has no trunk 0. Select Spain (+34) and type the nine digits starting with 6 or 7.

Do I need a NIE or passport to get a Spanish number for WhatsApp?

Not with us. Our +34 numbers are activated online with an email and no documents, so no NIE or passport is needed.

Does a Spanish WhatsApp number work in the Canary Islands?

Yes. A +34 mobile works the same anywhere in Spain, on the mainland, in the Balearics or in the Canaries; just check your contact's local time before calling.

Can I use the Spanish number for WhatsApp while living outside Spain?

Yes. The code goes to the +34 number and you read it in the web dashboard from anywhere.

Can I run WhatsApp Business on a Spanish number?

Yes. It verifies the +34 number with the same six-digit code by SMS or call, and can run beside your personal WhatsApp as long as each app uses its own number.

Will the number work with WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram and Google?

Yes — guaranteed. It's a real mobile number with unlimited incoming SMS and calls, so verification codes arrive by SMS or voice call. If it doesn't work with WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram, Google or any app you need, we replace it free within 7 days — or refund 100%.
