How Truecaller verification works
Truecaller registers a number you own and needs it to receive both SMS and calls. It accepts only regular mobile numbers, not VoIP or landlines.
Because SMSCreation numbers are real mobile numbers, Truecaller treats them like any other phone: the code is delivered to your number and shows up in your dashboard inbox straight away.
Why it works with WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram & Google
Apps check more than the digits: they look up the line type, the country format and whether the number can actually receive their code. Every SMSCreation number is a real mobile number in its country's official format — not a VoIP line — so it passes those checks the same way a SIM in your pocket does.
And we stand behind it with a 7-day replacement guarantee: if your number doesn't work with WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram, Google or any app you need, we replace it free with a new number in the same country — or refund 100% if you prefer.
- Non-VoIP, real mobile line type — line-type checks see an ordinary SIM number, not a VoIP line
- Official country format with the right country code, prefix and digit count
- Unlimited incoming SMS and calls — codes arrive by text or through the “call me” option
- Private to you — never listed on public SMS sites, so it isn't flagged or rate-limited
- Yours for as long as you want — re-verification and account recovery keep working
Truecaller registration details
Truecaller registers you with your phone number and sends a code to confirm it. Its requirements are strict: sign up only with a number you own, and that number must be able to receive both phone calls and text messages. Truecaller says it works only with regular mobile numbers, not internet-based (VoIP) or landline numbers. It may need up to 10 minutes to send the code, and you shouldn't go back or cancel while it tries.
A real mobile number with unlimited incoming SMS and calls meets these requirements. Two limits are worth knowing. Truecaller's verified-name badge is a separate check of your profile name against an ID. It's available only in India, for individual Premium users, through a third-party provider, and a phone number can't replace it. Roaming or a weak connection can also break registration, so use a stable internet connection.

Common Truecaller problems and fixes
- The code doesn't arrive → wait up to 10 minutes without cancelling, then check the number and country code, and turn off anything that blocks calls or texts. Our guide “Verification code not received” covers more causes.
- Registration keeps failing → the number may not meet Truecaller's rules: it must be a regular mobile number you own that takes both calls and texts → VoIP and landline numbers are refused.
- Registration stalls on the loading screen → roaming or a poor connection → check that websites load, then retry on stable mobile data or Wi-Fi.
- Still stuck after all checks → Truecaller suggests testing that the number can send and receive messages, then deleting Truecaller and installing the newest version.
Taking your number back out of Truecaller search
Registering puts the number on your Truecaller profile, and Truecaller treats getting it out again as a separate job. That matters if you only wanted the app for a while: registering with a number from your dashboard rather than your personal SIM keeps your everyday number off that profile from the start.
Leaving is a two-step process. First deactivate in the app: on Android, profile icon → Settings → Privacy Center; on iPhone, the profile avatar at the upper left → Settings → Privacy Center. Then use Truecaller's unlisting link to remove the number from search. Truecaller says removal can take up to 24 hours because of caching, and that numbers marked as spam can't be unlisted.
Before you press Continue on Truecaller's code screen
- Update to the latest Truecaller version first; an old build is the first thing support rules out.
- Choose the right country code from Truecaller's list, then check the digits once more before continuing.
- Keep the dashboard open on both the SMS inbox and the call history, since Truecaller may confirm by either.
- Leave the screen alone for the full 10 minutes; going back cancels the attempt.
- To change numbers later on Android: profile icon → Complete profile → tap your number → Continue.

Questions
Does an SMSCreation number work with Truecaller?
In most cases, yes: our numbers are real mobile numbers, so Truecaller can send its code to them by SMS — and by call where Truecaller offers it. Truecaller's own sign-up rules still apply, so check the verification details on this page before you buy.
Which country should I choose for Truecaller?
Any country works. Pick the country where you want your contacts to see a local number, or where the service you're joining expects one.
Will the number work with WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram and Google?
Yes — guaranteed. It's a real mobile number with unlimited incoming SMS and calls, so verification codes arrive by SMS or voice call. If it doesn't work with WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram, Google or any app you need, we replace it free within 7 days — or refund 100%.
Can I keep using the same number for Truecaller?
Yes. The number is yours for as long as you keep it renewed, so you can receive codes again for new devices or account recovery.
What if I don't need the number after all?
You're covered by our 7-day replacement guarantee — if the number doesn't work with WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram or Google, we replace it free or refund 100%; plus a no-questions-asked refund if you haven't used it for any call or SMS — request a refund within 7 days of activation.
How much does it cost?
From $1.80 a month on the yearly plan (billed yearly at $21.60/year). Every plan includes unlimited incoming SMS and calls, 500 outgoing SMS and 1,000 minutes.
Why does Truecaller need calls as well as SMS?
Truecaller's requirements say the number must be able to receive both calls and text messages, so either may be used to confirm it. Our numbers include unlimited incoming calls and unlimited incoming SMS, and both show up in your dashboard.
Can I get the verified badge with this number?
Not by the number alone. Truecaller's user verification checks your profile name against an ID, is available only in India, and is limited to individual Premium users. The number registers your account; the badge is a separate identity check you would complete yourself.
Why can someone still find my number after I unlisted it from Truecaller?
Truecaller says the result may be stored locally on the phone that searched before. Clearing that phone's history or cache removes it. Server-side removal can take up to 24 hours.
Can a number flagged as spam be removed from Truecaller?
No. Truecaller states that numbers marked as spam cannot be unlisted, so deactivating and unlisting only helps a number that hasn't been flagged.
