A real phone number
for Threads.

Get a real mobile number for Threads in any of 181 countries. Receive the Threads verification code by SMS or call, use the number for a Threads profile for a brand or creator account whose Instagram or Facebook login uses its own number, and keep it for as long as you want.

Every number includes unlimited incoming SMS, 500 outgoing SMS and 1,000 outgoing minutes a month, and unlimited incoming calls — from $1.80 a month on the yearly plan, with a 7-day replacement guarantee — if the number doesn't work with WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram or Google, we replace it free or refund 100%; plus a no-questions-asked refund if you haven't used it for any call or SMS.

01

How Threads verification works

Threads has no separate phone sign-up: you create a profile by signing in with your Instagram or Facebook account, so the phone number is verified there and managed in Accounts Center. Threads can send two-factor login codes by text message.

Because SMSCreation numbers are real mobile numbers, Threads treats them like any other phone: the code is delivered to your number and shows up in your dashboard inbox straight away.

02

Why it works with WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram & Google

Apps check more than the digits: they look up the line type, the country format and whether the number can actually receive their code. Every SMSCreation number is a real mobile number in its country's official format — not a VoIP line — so it passes those checks the same way a SIM in your pocket does.

And we stand behind it with a 7-day replacement guarantee: if your number doesn't work with WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram, Google or any app you need, we replace it free with a new number in the same country — or refund 100% if you prefer.

  • Non-VoIP, real mobile line type — line-type checks see an ordinary SIM number, not a VoIP line
  • Official country format with the right country code, prefix and digit count
  • Unlimited incoming SMS and calls — codes arrive by text or through the “call me” option
  • Private to you — never listed on public SMS sites, so it isn't flagged or rate-limited
  • Yours for as long as you want — re-verification and account recovery keep working

Threads verification details

Threads has no separate phone sign-up of its own. To create a Threads profile you sign in with an Instagram or Facebook account, and you can create one Threads profile for each of those accounts. So the phone verification actually happens on Instagram or Facebook. If you signed up for Threads with Instagram, the email address and phone number on Threads are the same ones on your Instagram account, and you manage them in Accounts Center.

Two-factor authentication for Threads is set in the Threads app: Profile → Menu → Accounts Center → Password and security → Two-factor authentication. Meta offers an authentication app (recommended), text message, or WhatsApp, and WhatsApp codes only work after the text-message method is on. For SMS you can use a number already on the account or add a new one. Meta warns that if you lose access to the email or phone you registered with, and Threads isn't in the same Accounts Center as another profile you own, it can't give you access to the account.

Common Threads problems and fixes

  • No place to enter a phone number when joining Threads → Threads signs you up through Instagram or Facebook → verify the number there first; see our Instagram and Facebook number pages.
  • Lost the phone number used for Threads → you can only change it while you can still log in → update it in Accounts Center before the old number lapses; both old and new contact details get a confirm-or-deny request.
  • Can't turn on WhatsApp login codes → Meta requires the text-message method first → enable SMS two-factor authentication, then add WhatsApp.
  • Codes not arriving → check the number in Accounts Center and try again; our guide “Verification code not received” covers carrier and format issues.
05

The number behind a Threads profile lives on Instagram or Facebook

Threads never asks for a phone number on a sign-up screen of its own. You join with an Instagram or Facebook account, one Threads profile per account, and the contact details come with it. If you joined through Instagram, Threads shows the same email and phone that Instagram holds, and you edit them in Accounts Center rather than in a Threads-only setting.

So the practical order is: verify the number on Instagram or Facebook first, then open Threads. Someone running a brand profile and a personal one needs two Instagram or Facebook accounts underneath, and each one has its own contact details.

06

Login codes on Threads: SMS, WhatsApp or an app

  • Path in the Threads app: Profile → Menu → Accounts Center → Password and security → Two-factor authentication.
  • Meta recommends an authentication app; text message and WhatsApp are the other choices.
  • WhatsApp codes only switch on after the text-message method is active.
  • Change the number only while you can still log in; Meta sends a confirm-or-deny request to both old and new details.
  • If the profile isn't in the same Accounts Center as another profile you own and you lose the registered phone and email, Meta says it can't restore access.

Tips for Threads

  • Verify the number on the Instagram or Facebook account you'll use for Threads first.
  • Turn on two-factor authentication in Threads under Accounts Center → Password and security; text message must be on before WhatsApp codes can be added.
  • Update the number in Accounts Center while you can still log in, because Threads can't restore access through a number you have lost.
09

Keep it as long as you want

Threads may ask for your number again — on a new phone, after a reinstall or for account recovery. Keep your number renewed and it stays yours, so you can always receive the code.

Not what you needed? Our 7-day replacement guarantee — if the number doesn't work with WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram or Google, we replace it free or refund 100%; plus a no-questions-asked refund if you haven't used it for any call or SMS.

Questions

Does an SMSCreation number work with Threads?

In most cases, yes: our numbers are real mobile numbers, so Threads can send its code to them by SMS — and by call where Threads offers it. Threads's own sign-up rules still apply, so check the verification details on this page before you buy.

Which country should I choose for Threads?

Any country works. Pick the country where you want your contacts to see a local number, or where the service you're joining expects one.

Will the number work with WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram and Google?

Yes — guaranteed. It's a real mobile number with unlimited incoming SMS and calls, so verification codes arrive by SMS or voice call. If it doesn't work with WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram, Google or any app you need, we replace it free within 7 days — or refund 100%.

Can I keep using the same number for Threads?

Yes. The number is yours for as long as you keep it renewed, so you can receive codes again for new devices or account recovery.

What if I don't need the number after all?

You're covered by our 7-day replacement guarantee — if the number doesn't work with WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram or Google, we replace it free or refund 100%; plus a no-questions-asked refund if you haven't used it for any call or SMS — request a refund within 7 days of activation.

How much does it cost?

From $1.80 a month on the yearly plan (billed yearly at $21.60/year). Every plan includes unlimited incoming SMS and calls, 500 outgoing SMS and 1,000 minutes.

Can I make a Threads profile with a phone number instead of Instagram?

Meta's help center says you create a Threads profile by signing in with your Instagram or Facebook account. Get the phone verification done on one of those accounts first, then use it to set up Threads.

Which two-factor method should I choose for Threads?

Meta recommends an authentication app because several devices can get codes. Text message works too, and it is required before you can use WhatsApp codes. Save your backup codes either way.

Can I sign up for Threads with just a phone number?

No. Threads profiles are created with an Instagram or Facebook account, so any phone verification happens on that account first.

Why can't I turn on WhatsApp codes for Threads?

Meta only allows WhatsApp as a two-factor method after text-message codes are already on. Enable SMS first, then add WhatsApp.
