01

How Spotify verification works

Where Spotify offers phone-number sign-up, it texts you a login code in place of a password. Phone-number login doesn't work in the desktop app.

Because SMSCreation numbers are real mobile numbers, Spotify treats them like any other phone: the code is delivered to your number and shows up in your dashboard inbox straight away.

02

Why it works with WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram & Google

Apps check more than the digits: they look up the line type, the country format and whether the number can actually receive their code. Every SMSCreation number is a real mobile number in its country's official format — not a VoIP line — so it passes those checks the same way a SIM in your pocket does.

And we stand behind it with a 7-day replacement guarantee: if your number doesn't work with WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram, Google or any app you need, we replace it free with a new number in the same country — or refund 100% if you prefer.

  • Non-VoIP, real mobile line type — line-type checks see an ordinary SIM number, not a VoIP line
  • Official country format with the right country code, prefix and digit count
  • Unlimited incoming SMS and calls — codes arrive by text or through the “call me” option
  • Private to you — never listed on public SMS sites, so it isn't flagged or rate-limited
  • Yours for as long as you want — re-verification and account recovery keep working

Spotify phone number login details

Spotify lets you sign up and log in with a phone number instead of an email and password, where the option is offered (Spotify's India help site documents it). Enter your country code and number, and Spotify texts you a login code, so there's no password to remember. When you log in on another device, you need the phone that receives the number's texts, and with a real mobile number that's simply your dashboard inbox.

There's one hard limit: you can't use a phone number to log in to the Spotify desktop app. To use desktop, log in with your phone number on the web first, add an email address to your profile and create a password for it. Spotify also says the same login details can't be added to more than one Spotify account, so one phone number means one Spotify account. You can manage and add login methods from Edit login methods, but you must keep at least one.

Common Spotify problems and fixes

  • "Try again" error → usually a mistyped phone number → check the country code and the number, then retry.
  • The login code doesn't arrive → it can take a few minutes if reception is poor → wait, then re-enter your number to generate a fresh code. Our guide "Verification code not received" covers more.
  • Can't log in on the desktop app → Spotify doesn't accept phone numbers there → log in on the web, add an email to your profile and set a password.
  • Phone login keeps failing → Spotify suggests logging in with email, or with Facebook, Apple or Google, instead.

What the number actually does inside your Spotify account

On Spotify a phone number is a login method, not a security add-on. It sits in the Current login methods list next to email, Facebook, Apple, Google or Samsung, and any method on that list opens the account. That makes the number a full key: whoever reads its texts can request a login code and get in, so keep it on a line only you can read.

Changing the list is itself guarded. Spotify's Edit login methods page may show an Edit button beside Available login methods, and you have to verify yourself before you can add or remove anything. Adding a method then asks you to confirm its login details before it moves into Current login methods.

  • Treat the phone number as one of several doors, not the only one: add an email and password as a second method.
  • Spotify refuses to remove your last remaining method, so you can never strip an account down to zero ways in.
  • If the number you add is already attached to a different Spotify account, the add fails; Spotify suggests picking another method instead.
06

When Spotify sends a fresh login code

There is no one-time setup code that you enter and forget. Every phone-number login on a new phone, tablet or browser triggers a new text, so the number keeps working as your password for as long as the account exists. The desktop app is the exception: it never accepts the phone method, which is why listeners who switch to a laptop end up adding an email on the web first.

Plan for a slow text rather than a missing one. Spotify's own advice for a code that hasn't landed is to wait a few minutes and then re-enter the number to generate a new one.

Keep it as long as you want

Spotify may ask for your number again — on a new phone, after a reinstall or for account recovery. Keep your number renewed and it stays yours, so you can always receive the code.

Not what you needed? Our 7-day replacement guarantee — if the number doesn't work with WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram or Google, we replace it free or refund 100%; plus a no-questions-asked refund if you haven't used it for any call or SMS.

Questions

Does an SMSCreation number work with Spotify?

In most cases, yes: our numbers are real mobile numbers, so Spotify can send its code to them by SMS — and by call where Spotify offers it. Spotify's own sign-up rules still apply, so check the verification details on this page before you buy.

Which country should I choose for Spotify?

Any country works. Pick the country where you want your contacts to see a local number, or where the service you're joining expects one.

Will the number work with WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram and Google?

Yes — guaranteed. It's a real mobile number with unlimited incoming SMS and calls, so verification codes arrive by SMS or voice call. If it doesn't work with WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram, Google or any app you need, we replace it free within 7 days — or refund 100%.

Can I keep using the same number for Spotify?

Yes. The number is yours for as long as you keep it renewed, so you can receive codes again for new devices or account recovery.

What if I don't need the number after all?

You're covered by our 7-day replacement guarantee — if the number doesn't work with WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram or Google, we replace it free or refund 100%; plus a no-questions-asked refund if you haven't used it for any call or SMS — request a refund within 7 days of activation.

How much does it cost?

From $1.80 a month on the yearly plan (billed yearly at $21.60/year). Every plan includes unlimited incoming SMS and calls, 500 outgoing SMS and 1,000 minutes.

Can I use this number to sign up for Spotify?

Where Spotify offers phone-number sign-up, yes. It's a real mobile number, so Spotify's login code arrives by SMS in your dashboard. Add an email and password afterwards if you want to use the desktop app, which doesn't accept phone-number login.

Can one phone number log in to two Spotify accounts?

No. Spotify says you can't add the same login details to multiple accounts, so a phone number belongs to one Spotify account. Use a separate number for a second account.

Do I have to verify myself before changing Spotify login methods?

Sometimes. If Spotify shows an Edit button next to Available login methods, it asks you to verify yourself first. Once that's done you can add a phone number, email or social login, or remove one, as long as at least one method stays.

What happens if my Spotify phone number is already on another account?

Spotify won't attach the same login details to two accounts. Either log in to the account that already holds the number, or add a different login method to the new account.

Can I remove the phone number from Spotify later?

Yes, from Edit login methods, as long as another login method stays on the account. Spotify always keeps at least one way to log in.
