A real phone number
for Reddit.

How Reddit verification works

In certain eligible countries Reddit lets you sign up with “Continue with phone number” and a one-time code sent by text; elsewhere you can add a number later in Settings and confirm it with a text code.

Because SMSCreation numbers are real mobile numbers, Reddit treats them like any other phone: the code is delivered to your number and shows up in your dashboard inbox straight away.

Why it works with WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram & Google

Apps check more than the digits: they look up the line type, the country format and whether the number can actually receive their code. Every SMSCreation number is a real mobile number in its country's official format — not a VoIP line — so it passes those checks the same way a SIM in your pocket does.

And we stand behind it with a 7-day replacement guarantee: if your number doesn't work with WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram, Google or any app you need, we replace it free with a new number in the same country — or refund 100% if you prefer.

• Non-VoIP, real mobile line type — line-type checks see an ordinary SIM number, not a VoIP line
• Official country format with the right country code, prefix and digit count
• Unlimited incoming SMS and calls — codes arrive by text or through the “call me” option
• Private to you — never listed on public SMS sites, so it isn't flagged or rate-limited
• Yours for as long as you want — re-verification and account recovery keep working

Reddit phone number details

In certain eligible countries Reddit lets you sign up with a phone number: choose Continue with phone number, enter your number, and type the one-time code Reddit sends by text. Where that option isn't offered, you sign up with email, Google or Apple and can add a phone number later under Settings → General (web) or Settings → your username → Basic Settings (iOS and Android). Adding a number also sends a verification code by text.

Two limits are worth knowing. Reddit's two-factor authentication uses a 6-digit code from an authenticator app, not SMS, and can only be turned on from a web browser. And if you lose access to the number on your account, Reddit says you won't be able to update or delete it. To remove a number you must first add an email address, and Reddit strongly recommends one anyway for password resets. Keep the number renewed if it is your only login method.

Common Reddit problems and fixes

• No “Continue with phone number” option → phone sign-up is only available in certain countries → sign up with email and add the number later in Settings.
• Can't change or remove the old number → Reddit requires access to the current number → keep the number active, and add an email so you are not locked to the phone.
• No option to add a phone number on the web → Reddit hides it for accounts created with Google or Apple sign-in that have no password → add a password first.
• Text code not arriving → check the country code and request the code again; our guide “Verification code not received” lists the usual causes.

A phone-only Reddit account has no password until you add an email

When you create a Reddit account with Continue with phone number, you may never set a password. Reddit only lets you add one after you add an email address. On reddit.com: profile icon → Settings → General → Email address, verify your phone number, and Reddit emails you a link to verify the address and create a password. In Reddit's apps for iOS and Android: avatar → the three-line menu → Settings → your username → Basic Settings → Add email address, then Add password.

This matters for recovery. Reddit says that if you forgot your password and never added an email, you're locked out, because it has no way to confirm the account is yours. Its only suggestions are to look for a saved password in your browser or your phone's password manager. A phone-only account therefore depends on two things: the number staying active, and an email being added early.

Reddit 2FA sits apart from the phone number

• Reddit's two-factor applies only when you log in with a Reddit password; for Google or Apple sign-in, you set up two-factor with Google or Apple instead.
• Getting a new phone means turning Reddit 2FA off and setting it up again on the new device; the authenticator doesn't move by itself.
• Lose the authenticator and the way back in is a backup code, not an SMS to your number.
• So on Reddit the number is a sign-in and contact method, while the authenticator app guards the password login.

Tips for Reddit

• Add an email address as well: Reddit requires one before you can remove a phone number, and it makes password resets easier.
• Turn on two-factor authentication from a web browser; Reddit uses a 6-digit code from an authenticator app for it.
• Keep the number active: Reddit won't let you update or delete a number you no longer have access to.
