01

How PlayStation Network verification works

PlayStation Network sends a verification code by text message when you sign in with 2-step verification on. Codes are valid for 10 minutes.

Because SMSCreation numbers are real mobile numbers, PlayStation Network treats them like any other phone: the code is delivered to your number and shows up in your dashboard inbox straight away.

02

Why it works with WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram & Google

Apps check more than the digits: they look up the line type, the country format and whether the number can actually receive their code. Every SMSCreation number is a real mobile number in its country's official format — not a VoIP line — so it passes those checks the same way a SIM in your pocket does.

And we stand behind it with a 7-day replacement guarantee: if your number doesn't work with WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram, Google or any app you need, we replace it free with a new number in the same country — or refund 100% if you prefer.

  • Non-VoIP, real mobile line type — line-type checks see an ordinary SIM number, not a VoIP line
  • Official country format with the right country code, prefix and digit count
  • Unlimited incoming SMS and calls — codes arrive by text or through the “call me” option
  • Private to you — never listed on public SMS sites, so it isn't flagged or rate-limited
  • Yours for as long as you want — re-verification and account recovery keep working

PlayStation Network verification details

PlayStation Network (PSN) uses a mobile number for 2-step verification (2SV). Once it's on, signing in with your sign-in ID and password on a computer, phone, tablet or PlayStation console triggers a unique verification code. You can get it by text message or from an authenticator app. To set up text messages on the web, sign in to Account Management, select Security, then Edit next to 2-Step Verification Status. Choose Text Message, enter your mobile number, type the SMS code and select Activate.

On a PS5 the same switch is under Settings → Users and Accounts → Security → 2-Step Verification. On a PS4 it's under Settings → Account Management → Account Information → Security → 2-Step Verification. Each code is valid for 10 minutes after the sign-in attempt. During setup PlayStation gives you 10 backup codes, and each works once. Store them safely, because PlayStation has no separate "change number" option. To move 2SV to a new phone, you turn 2SV off and reactivate it with the new number.

Common PlayStation Network problems and fixes

  • No code arrives → it can take a few minutes → select Resend Code on the sign-in screen, check that airplane mode is off and the line has signal. Our guide "Verification code not received" covers more.
  • The code has expired → codes last 10 minutes after the sign-in attempt → select Resend Code and enter the new one straight away.
  • Lost access to the old phone → select Trouble Receiving Code?, then Sign In Using a Backup Code → once in, turn 2SV off and reactivate it with your new number.
  • Running out of backup codes → PlayStation issues a fresh set when you turn 2SV off and reactivate it.
  • No backup codes and no phone → PlayStation says to contact it through its Online Assistant to restore access.
05

Recovering a PSN account when the 2SV text doesn't come

  • On the sign-in screen, select Resend Code and allow a few minutes; then check the number's inbox in your dashboard again.
  • If you saved backup codes, sign in to Account Management and choose Trouble Receiving Code? → Sign In Using a Backup Code.
  • Enter one of the 10 backup codes, select Verify, then Continue. Each code works only once.
  • Running low on codes? Turn 2SV off and reactivate it to receive a new set, and re-enter the mobile number during reactivation.
  • With no backup codes and no access to the number, PlayStation sends you to its Online Assistant to restore access.

Where PlayStation 2SV gets in the way

PlayStation says you can't sign in on Google TV while 2SV is turned on. A wrong-password message there means you disable 2SV, sign in, and switch it back on afterward. Each switch-on sends a new SMS code, so the number has to be reachable that day.

PlayStation now promotes passkeys as an alternative sign-in on supported devices. Where your device can't use one, text-message 2SV remains the route, and a number you renew keeps the backup-code path open too.

Keep it as long as you want

PlayStation Network may ask for your number again — on a new phone, after a reinstall or for account recovery. Keep your number renewed and it stays yours, so you can always receive the code.

Not what you needed? Our 7-day replacement guarantee — if the number doesn't work with WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram or Google, we replace it free or refund 100%; plus a no-questions-asked refund if you haven't used it for any call or SMS.

Questions

Does an SMSCreation number work with PlayStation Network?

In most cases, yes: our numbers are real mobile numbers, so PlayStation Network can send its code to them by SMS — and by call where PlayStation Network offers it. PlayStation Network's own sign-up rules still apply, so check the verification details on this page before you buy.

Which country should I choose for PlayStation Network?

Any country works. Pick the country where you want your contacts to see a local number, or where the service you're joining expects one.

Will the number work with WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram and Google?

Yes — guaranteed. It's a real mobile number with unlimited incoming SMS and calls, so verification codes arrive by SMS or voice call. If it doesn't work with WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram, Google or any app you need, we replace it free within 7 days — or refund 100%.

Can I keep using the same number for PlayStation Network?

Yes. The number is yours for as long as you keep it renewed, so you can receive codes again for new devices or account recovery.

What if I don't need the number after all?

You're covered by our 7-day replacement guarantee — if the number doesn't work with WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram or Google, we replace it free or refund 100%; plus a no-questions-asked refund if you haven't used it for any call or SMS — request a refund within 7 days of activation.

How much does it cost?

From $1.80 a month on the yearly plan (billed yearly at $21.60/year). Every plan includes unlimited incoming SMS and calls, 500 outgoing SMS and 1,000 minutes.

Can I use this number for PSN 2-step verification?

Yes. It's a real mobile number that receives text messages, so the verification code reaches your dashboard inbox. Enter it within 10 minutes. Save the 10 backup codes PlayStation shows during setup, and keep the number renewed so sign-ins on new consoles keep working.

How do I move PSN 2SV to a different number?

PlayStation doesn't offer a direct number swap. Sign in, turn 2-step verification off in Account Management → Security, then turn it back on with the new number and confirm its SMS code. You get a fresh set of backup codes at the same time.

How do I get new PSN backup codes?

PlayStation issues a fresh set of 10 when you turn 2-step verification off and reactivate it. Reactivating sends a new text code to the mobile number you enter.

Why does Google TV say my PSN password is wrong?

PlayStation says you can't sign in on Google TV while 2SV is on. Disable 2SV, sign in, then reactivate it.
