How Pinterest verification works
Adding a phone number to Pinterest is optional. You need one to turn on two-factor authentication, where Pinterest texts you a verification code at login, and a number can be linked to only one account.
Because SMSCreation numbers are real mobile numbers, Pinterest treats them like any other phone: the code is delivered to your number and shows up in your dashboard inbox straight away.
Why it works with WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram & Google
Apps check more than the digits: they look up the line type, the country format and whether the number can actually receive their code. Every SMSCreation number is a real mobile number in its country's official format — not a VoIP line — so it passes those checks the same way a SIM in your pocket does.
And we stand behind it with a 7-day replacement guarantee: if your number doesn't work with WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram, Google or any app you need, we replace it free with a new number in the same country — or refund 100% if you prefer.
- Non-VoIP, real mobile line type — line-type checks see an ordinary SIM number, not a VoIP line
- Official country format with the right country code, prefix and digit count
- Unlimited incoming SMS and calls — codes arrive by text or through the “call me” option
- Private to you — never listed on public SMS sites, so it isn't flagged or rate-limited
- Yours for as long as you want — re-verification and account recovery keep working
Pinterest phone verification details
Pinterest doesn't need a phone number to create an account. Its help centre says adding one is optional, and you can manage or remove it in your settings at any time. The number matters mainly for two-factor authentication (2FA). To turn 2FA on, you give Pinterest a phone number so it can text you a code, and from then on each login needs your password plus that code. Pinterest notes that 2FA isn't available in all regions yet.
On the web you go to Settings → Security and tick Require code at login. In the app it's the Two-factor authentication toggle under Security. Pinterest may ask you to confirm your email address, then asks for your password, your country/region code and your number. You type the verification code you receive by text and click Verify, and on the web you're given a backup code to keep somewhere safe. Pinterest says a phone number can only be linked to one account. To update the linked number, you have to contact Pinterest for help. Pinterest also uses a number to confirm it's really you, help recover the account and detect suspicious activity, and it may match the number with advertising partners for personalised ads.

Common Pinterest verification problems and fixes
- The 2FA option is missing → Pinterest says two-factor authentication isn't available in all regions yet.
- The number won't link → a phone number can only be linked to one Pinterest account. Use a separate number for each account you manage.
- The text code doesn't come → check that you picked the right country/region code before typing the number, then try again. Our guide "Verification code not received" has more checks.
- You've lost the 2FA phone or need a new number → contact Pinterest. Keeping the backup code from setup safe makes this less painful.
- "We protected your account" → Pinterest noticed strange activity, reset your password and logged everyone out. Reset your password, then turn on two-factor authentication.
When a phone number is worth adding to Pinterest
On Pinterest the number is optional at sign-up, so the question is whether to add one at all. The case for it is two-factor authentication. Pinterest only turns on Require code at login once you give it a number it can text, and after that every login needs the password plus the texted code. Pinterest also uses the number to confirm it's really you, to help recover the account and to spot suspicious activity. Note that 2FA isn't offered in every region yet.
The case for a separate number is how Pinterest treats it once added. A number can be linked to only one account, and changing it later means contacting Pinterest for help rather than editing it yourself. Pinterest says it may also match the number with advertising partners for personalised ads. Keep the backup code from the web setup somewhere safe; it's your way in if the phone isn't.

Questions
Does an SMSCreation number work with Pinterest?
In most cases, yes: our numbers are real mobile numbers, so Pinterest can send its code to them by SMS — and by call where Pinterest offers it. Pinterest's own sign-up rules still apply, so check the verification details on this page before you buy.
Which country should I choose for Pinterest?
Any country works. Pick the country where you want your contacts to see a local number, or where the service you're joining expects one.
Will the number work with WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram and Google?
Yes — guaranteed. It's a real mobile number with unlimited incoming SMS and calls, so verification codes arrive by SMS or voice call. If it doesn't work with WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram, Google or any app you need, we replace it free within 7 days — or refund 100%.
Can I keep using the same number for Pinterest?
Yes. The number is yours for as long as you keep it renewed, so you can receive codes again for new devices or account recovery.
What if I don't need the number after all?
You're covered by our 7-day replacement guarantee — if the number doesn't work with WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram or Google, we replace it free or refund 100%; plus a no-questions-asked refund if you haven't used it for any call or SMS — request a refund within 7 days of activation.
How much does it cost?
From $1.80 a month on the yearly plan (billed yearly at $21.60/year). Every plan includes unlimited incoming SMS and calls, 500 outgoing SMS and 1,000 minutes.
Do I need a phone number for Pinterest?
No. Adding a phone number is optional. You need one only if you want two-factor authentication, where Pinterest texts you a code at each login. You can remove the number in settings at any time.
Can I use one number for two Pinterest accounts?
No. Pinterest says a phone number can only be linked to one account. If you run a personal and a business account, each needs its own number for two-factor authentication.
How do I change the phone number used for Pinterest 2FA?
Pinterest asks you to contact it for help if you need to update the phone number linked to your account, or if two-factor authentication is stopping you from logging in.
Can I change the phone number on my Pinterest account myself?
Pinterest says that to update the linked number you need to contact Pinterest for help, so choose a number you plan to keep before you turn on two-factor authentication.
