A real phone number
for Grab.
Get a real mobile number for Grab in any of 181 countries. Receive the Grab verification code by SMS or call, use the number for rides and food delivery in Southeast Asia on a local number, and keep it for as long as you want.
Every number includes unlimited incoming SMS, 500 outgoing SMS and 1,000 outgoing minutes a month, and unlimited incoming calls — from $1.80 a month on the yearly plan, with a 7-day replacement guarantee — if the number doesn't work with WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram or Google, we replace it free or refund 100%; plus a no-questions-asked refund if you haven't used it for any call or SMS.
How Grab verification works
Grab sends a 6-digit OTP at sign-up, by SMS or WhatsApp depending on your number's country code, and falls back to a phone call. It operates only in eight Southeast Asian countries.
Because SMSCreation numbers are real mobile numbers, Grab treats them like any other phone: the code is delivered to your number and shows up in your dashboard inbox straight away.
Why it works with WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram & Google
Apps check more than the digits: they look up the line type, the country format and whether the number can actually receive their code. Every SMSCreation number is a real mobile number in its country's official format — not a VoIP line — so it passes those checks the same way a SIM in your pocket does.
And we stand behind it with a 7-day replacement guarantee: if your number doesn't work with WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram, Google or any app you need, we replace it free with a new number in the same country — or refund 100% if you prefer.
- Non-VoIP, real mobile line type — line-type checks see an ordinary SIM number, not a VoIP line
- Official country format with the right country code, prefix and digit count
- Unlimited incoming SMS and calls — codes arrive by text or through the “call me” option
- Private to you — never listed on public SMS sites, so it isn't flagged or rate-limited
- Yours for as long as you want — re-verification and account recovery keep working
Grab verification details
Grab operates only in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, the Philippines, Cambodia and Myanmar. It accepts international phone numbers for sign-up. If you're elsewhere, select the country you plan to travel to. You get a 6-digit OTP when you sign up, and the country code of your number decides the channel. Numbers from Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia, China, Denmark, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Portugal, Germany and Belgium get it by SMS. All other country codes get it by WhatsApp, or by SMS if WhatsApp isn't installed. After several failed attempts, Grab switches to a phone call that reads the code aloud.
That routing matters when you pick a country. A number from one of the SMS countries sends the OTP straight to your SMS inbox. For other countries, the code goes to WhatsApp if that number already uses it; otherwise it comes by SMS, and a voice call remains the backup. Grab needs a valid mobile number and says non-mobile numbers won't work. To change the number, open Profile → Edit Profile, enter it without the leading 0 and tap Save; the OTP comes by SMS. You may need your GrabPIN. A number already used on Grab can't be linked to another account.

Common Grab problems and fixes
- The OTP doesn't arrive → a message filter may be hiding it → on iPhone, turn off Settings → Messages → Filter Unknown Senders, or check the Filtered Messages folder; on Android, make sure Grab isn't a blocked number. Our guide “Verification code not received” has more.
- The code went to WhatsApp, not SMS → your number's country code routes OTPs to WhatsApp → open WhatsApp on that number, or rely on SMS if WhatsApp isn't installed.
- Still nothing after several tries → Grab automatically offers a phone call that reads the code aloud, and incoming calls are unlimited.
- The profile fields are greyed out → you have an ongoing booking or an outstanding balance → finish the booking, then try again.
- “Number already registered” → the number is linked to another Grab account, and previously used numbers stay tied to their original account → use a number that has never been on Grab.
Grab routes the OTP by your number's country code
Grab's 6-digit sign-up code doesn't always come as a text. Grab looks at the country code: numbers from Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia, China, Denmark, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Portugal, Germany and Belgium get it by SMS. Every other country code gets it by WhatsApp, or by SMS when WhatsApp isn't installed. After several failed attempts Grab switches to a phone call that reads the code aloud.
For a traveller that table matters. A Singapore or Malaysia number puts the OTP straight into your SMS inbox. A number from a WhatsApp-routed country is fine too as long as you know where to look, with the voice call as the backup.

Questions
Does an SMSCreation number work with Grab?
In most cases, yes: our numbers are real mobile numbers, so Grab can send its code to them by SMS — and by call where Grab offers it. Grab's own sign-up rules still apply, so check the verification details on this page before you buy.
Which country should I choose for Grab?
Any country works. Pick the country where you want your contacts to see a local number, or where the service you're joining expects one.
Will the number work with WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram and Google?
Yes — guaranteed. It's a real mobile number with unlimited incoming SMS and calls, so verification codes arrive by SMS or voice call. If it doesn't work with WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram, Google or any app you need, we replace it free within 7 days — or refund 100%.
Can I keep using the same number for Grab?
Yes. The number is yours for as long as you keep it renewed, so you can receive codes again for new devices or account recovery.
What if I don't need the number after all?
You're covered by our 7-day replacement guarantee — if the number doesn't work with WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram or Google, we replace it free or refund 100%; plus a no-questions-asked refund if you haven't used it for any call or SMS — request a refund within 7 days of activation.
How much does it cost?
From $1.80 a month on the yearly plan (billed yearly at $21.60/year). Every plan includes unlimited incoming SMS and calls, 500 outgoing SMS and 1,000 minutes.
Can I sign up for Grab with a number from another country?
Yes. Grab accepts all international phone numbers, but it only operates in eight Southeast Asian countries. Numbers from Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Cambodia, among others, get the OTP by SMS. Most other country codes get it through WhatsApp, or by SMS if WhatsApp isn't installed.
Which country number should I choose for Grab?
A number from the country where you'll ride is simplest, and Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand numbers receive the OTP by SMS. Grab keeps a phone number tied to the account it was first used on, so choose one that has never been registered on Grab.
Why did my Grab code come on WhatsApp?
Grab sends OTPs by SMS only to certain country codes; others get WhatsApp first, or SMS if WhatsApp isn't installed.
Can I use a foreign number on Grab while travelling?
Yes. Grab accepts international mobile numbers. If you're outside Grab's countries when you sign up, select the country you're travelling to.
