foodpanda asks for a mobile number at registration and may send a One-Time Pin by SMS, or through Viber or WhatsApp. A code to the new number confirms a number change.

foodpanda verification details

foodpanda runs a separate site in each Asian country it serves, such as the Philippines and Malaysia. To register, you give your full name, a valid email address, a mobile phone number and a password. foodpanda's terms reserve the right to send a One-Time Pin (OTP) by SMS or through messaging platforms such as Viber or WhatsApp, at its discretion. The foodpanda Malaysia FAQ says to verify your email address or phone number if prompted during sign-up. Riders also use the number to reach you when they arrive.

To change the registered number, log in and go to Account or Settings. Choose Edit Profile or Change Phone Number, enter the new number and confirm with the verification code foodpanda sends to it. foodpanda notes that the steps can vary by device and platform. Password resets go through your email address, so keep that inbox working as well. Some deliveries use a separate 4-digit delivery PIN shown on the order-tracking page. That PIN appears on screen and isn't sent to your phone, so a phone number doesn't replace it.

Common foodpanda problems and fixes

• The OTP doesn't come by SMS → foodpanda may send it through Viber or WhatsApp instead → check those apps if they're set up on the same number. Our guide “Verification code not received” covers SMS delivery.
• The rider can't reach you → the number on the account is wrong → foodpanda asks you to make sure the phone number is correct so the rider can contact you on arrival.
• You can't find the change-number option → foodpanda says the steps vary by device → look under Account or Settings, or contact customer service through the in-app help centre.
• A delivery asks for a PIN you didn't get by SMS → it's the 4-digit delivery PIN on the order-tracking page, not an SMS code.

How foodpanda uses your number between order and doorstep

foodpanda asks for a mobile number when you register, alongside your full name, an email address and a password. After that the number does two everyday jobs. It receives a One-Time Pin when foodpanda asks for one, and it's the number a rider calls or texts on arrival, so a wrong digit means a rider stuck at the gate.

The channel for that One-Time Pin isn't fixed. foodpanda's terms let it send the PIN by SMS or through messaging apps such as Viber or WhatsApp at its discretion. If no text arrives, check whether Viber or WhatsApp is set up on the same number.

Country sites, password resets and the delivery PIN on foodpanda

• foodpanda runs a separate site per country, such as foodpanda.ph and foodpanda.my, so choose a number from the country you order in.
• Password resets go to your email, not your phone, so keep the inbox active too.
• Changing the number: Account or Settings → Edit Profile or Change Phone Number, then enter the code sent to the new number. The exact menu varies by device.
• A 4-digit delivery PIN, when an order uses one, shows on the order-tracking screen. It isn't texted, so no phone number replaces it.
