craigslist phone verification details

craigslist doesn't verify every user by phone. Some postings need to be verified before they're published, either by email or by phone, and phone verification only happens during the posting process. When it's required, you enter a valid phone number, choose voice or text for a one-time code, and type the code to finish your posting. The number you verify with is not shown on your posting, so buyers never see it.

The limits matter when you pick a number. craigslist says international and VoIP numbers are not supported. A phone number can be associated with only one craigslist account at a time, and you can request a code only once every five minutes. Common craigslist problems and fixes

• The number is refused → craigslist doesn't support international or VoIP numbers → use a mobile number from the country you're posting in, such as a US number for US sites.
