How Bolt verification works
Bolt signs you in with your phone number and a code sent by SMS, which can take up to 60 seconds. Changing the number also requires an SMS confirmation.
Because SMSCreation numbers are real mobile numbers, Bolt treats them like any other phone: the code is delivered to your number and shows up in your dashboard inbox straight away.
Why it works with WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram & Google
Apps check more than the digits: they look up the line type, the country format and whether the number can actually receive their code. Every SMSCreation number is a real mobile number in its country's official format — not a VoIP line — so it passes those checks the same way a SIM in your pocket does.
And we stand behind it with a 7-day replacement guarantee: if your number doesn't work with WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram, Google or any app you need, we replace it free with a new number in the same country — or refund 100% if you prefer.
- Non-VoIP, real mobile line type — line-type checks see an ordinary SIM number, not a VoIP line
- Official country format with the right country code, prefix and digit count
- Unlimited incoming SMS and calls — codes arrive by text or through the “call me” option
- Private to you — never listed on public SMS sites, so it isn't flagged or rate-limited
- Yours for as long as you want — re-verification and account recovery keep working
Bolt verification details
Bolt signs you in with your phone number and a verification code. Bolt's help centre says the code takes up to 60 seconds to arrive. If it doesn't come, check that the number is correct and that your internet connection is stable. If you still can't sign in, contact Bolt's local support email. To change the number, open the Account tab → Profile and edit it. Bolt sends a verification request by SMS to the new number, and the change takes effect only once you verify it. Your details are shared with Bolt Food, so the update applies there too.
Bolt operates in more than 500 cities, so rules vary by market. In Saudi Arabia, Bolt's help page asks users to activate advertising messages with their carrier if codes don't arrive, and lists opt-in texts for Mobily, Saudi Telecom and Zain. A phone number isn't always the only check. Bolt is testing Rider Verification in Kenya, Nigeria, Ghana, South Africa and Paraguay. Some new riders must upload a selfie and an ID document before their first ride. A phone number can't satisfy that step, and riders can't order until it's done.

Common Bolt problems and fixes
- No code after a minute → the number or country code is wrong, or the connection dropped → check the number, wait the full 60 seconds, then resend. Our guide “Verification code not received” has more checks.
- Codes don't arrive on a Saudi number → Bolt says to activate advertising messages with your carrier (Mobily, Saudi Telecom or Zain) → send the opt-in text listed on Bolt's help page, then try again.
- The new number isn't showing in your profile → Bolt changes it only after you verify the SMS sent to the new number → open that SMS and follow the instructions.
- The app asks for a selfie and ID → Rider Verification is running in some markets → complete it in the app. A phone number can't replace the ID check.
How Bolt riders and drivers reach each other
Bolt's number is also what a ride runs on. Once a driver accepts, the rider can send an in-app message, and the chat history is deleted when the ride finishes. Calling stays possible for longer: Bolt's rider help says the call option remains in the app for 24 hours after the ride ends, which is how most lost-item calls happen. Past 24 hours, or if the driver doesn't pick up, Bolt sends you to its Support team.
The driver side has a twist. Bolt's driver article says a driver can message the rider only until the ride starts, can call for 24 hours after it ends, and can call only from the phone number registered on the driver profile. If the order was cancelled, the call button is disabled. For riders, that means the number on your Bolt profile is the one that will ring when a driver calls back about a forgotten bag.
Bolt driver accounts and the SMS one-time password
- Bolt's driver login help says a one-time password may be required by SMS, sent to the phone number linked to the driver account.
- If the code doesn't come, Bolt suggests restarting your device and resending; it takes up to 60 seconds to come through.
- Driver accounts also need a username and password, and activation: Bolt emails login details once the account is activated.
- Driver support for login problems is by email at help@bolt.eu.

Questions
Does an SMSCreation number work with Bolt?
In most cases, yes: our numbers are real mobile numbers, so Bolt can send its code to them by SMS — and by call where Bolt offers it. Bolt's own sign-up rules still apply, so check the verification details on this page before you buy.
Which country should I choose for Bolt?
Any country works. Pick the country where you want your contacts to see a local number, or where the service you're joining expects one.
Will the number work with WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram and Google?
Yes — guaranteed. It's a real mobile number with unlimited incoming SMS and calls, so verification codes arrive by SMS or voice call. If it doesn't work with WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram, Google or any app you need, we replace it free within 7 days — or refund 100%.
Can I keep using the same number for Bolt?
Yes. The number is yours for as long as you keep it renewed, so you can receive codes again for new devices or account recovery.
What if I don't need the number after all?
You're covered by our 7-day replacement guarantee — if the number doesn't work with WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram or Google, we replace it free or refund 100%; plus a no-questions-asked refund if you haven't used it for any call or SMS — request a refund within 7 days of activation.
How much does it cost?
From $1.80 a month on the yearly plan (billed yearly at $21.60/year). Every plan includes unlimited incoming SMS and calls, 500 outgoing SMS and 1,000 minutes.
Can I use this number for Bolt?
Yes. It's a real mobile number, so Bolt's SMS code arrives in your inbox, and incoming calls are unlimited if a driver calls. If Bolt asks for a selfie and ID where Rider Verification is live, you'll have to complete that separately.
Does changing my number in Bolt affect Bolt Food?
Yes. Bolt says changes to your personal details in the Bolt app also apply to the Bolt Food app. The new number is saved only after you verify it through the SMS Bolt sends to it.
How long can I call my Bolt driver after the ride?
Bolt keeps the call option in the app for 24 hours after the ride ends. After that, or if you can't reach the driver, Bolt asks you to contact its Support team.
Can a Bolt driver call me from a personal phone?
Bolt's driver help says drivers can call the rider only from the phone number registered on their own driver profile, and the option disappears if the order is cancelled.
