A real phone number
for Airbnb.
Get a real mobile number for Airbnb in any of 181 countries. Receive the Airbnb verification code by SMS or call, use the number for a contact number for bookings and hosting that keeps your personal number private, and keep it for as long as you want.
Every number includes unlimited incoming SMS, 500 outgoing SMS and 1,000 outgoing minutes a month, and unlimited incoming calls — from $1.80 a month on the yearly plan, with a 7-day replacement guarantee — if the number doesn't work with WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram or Google, we replace it free or refund 100%; plus a no-questions-asked refund if you haven't used it for any call or SMS.
How Airbnb verification works
Airbnb sends a 4-digit code by text message to verify your number. Guests need a verified number to book and hosts need one to list, and two-factor codes can arrive by SMS or phone call.
Because SMSCreation numbers are real mobile numbers, Airbnb treats them like any other phone: the code is delivered to your number and shows up in your dashboard inbox straight away.
Why it works with WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram & Google
Apps check more than the digits: they look up the line type, the country format and whether the number can actually receive their code. Every SMSCreation number is a real mobile number in its country's official format — not a VoIP line — so it passes those checks the same way a SIM in your pocket does.
And we stand behind it with a 7-day replacement guarantee: if your number doesn't work with WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram, Google or any app you need, we replace it free with a new number in the same country — or refund 100% if you prefer.
- Non-VoIP, real mobile line type — line-type checks see an ordinary SIM number, not a VoIP line
- Official country format with the right country code, prefix and digit count
- Unlimited incoming SMS and calls — codes arrive by text or through the “call me” option
- Private to you — never listed on public SMS sites, so it isn't flagged or rate-limited
- Yours for as long as you want — re-verification and account recovery keep working
Airbnb phone verification details
Airbnb makes a verified phone number a condition: guests need one before booking, and hosts before listing a home. On desktop, go to Profile → Account → Personal information, edit Phone number, pick the country code, and click Verify. Airbnb then sends a 4-digit code by text message. Once a reservation is accepted, every phone number on your account is shown to the other party. A separate number keeps your personal line out of host and guest contacts.
A phone number is not the same as identity verification. When Airbnb verifies your identity at checkout or before your first listing, it may ask for your legal name and address, then a government ID photo and a selfie. A rented number can't cover that. Airbnb also says newly added numbers can take up to 14 days to become usable for verification calls. It won't send codes to landlines, shared business lines, or most VoIP services.
- Code
- 4 digits by text message; two-factor codes by SMS or phone call
- When it's required
- Guests before booking; hosts before listing
- Numbers refused
- Landlines, lines routed to several extensions, most VoIP services
- Security setting to turn on
- Two-factor authentication: Account Settings → Login & Security
- Where to change the number
- Profile → Account → Personal information → Phone number
Common Airbnb problems and fixes
- The number is already in use → you may have another Airbnb account on it → log in with your email instead, or remove the number from the other account.
- The code never comes → check the country code, log out and clear your cache, or try another browser. Some phone types can't receive codes. Our guide “Verification code not received” covers more.
- “This verification method is not currently supported in your location” → identity-verification calls aren't offered where you are → verify by SMS or WhatsApp instead.
- A new number can't be used for ID verification yet → Airbnb says newly added numbers can take up to 14 days → verify it now and wait.
- Locked out and no number on the account works → on the two-factor screen choose Need Help; Airbnb says it will get in touch within 12–24 hours.
Airbnb's PIN-based two-factor authentication
Airbnb's two-factor authentication is stricter than a single texted code. Airbnb says it is its name for Strong Customer Authentication (SCA), a requirement of European payment service regulation, and it is required for all Hosts in the European Economic Area. Setup lives under Menu > Account settings > Login & security > Set up now. You choose to receive the one-time passcode by text (SMS) or a phone call, create a personal identification number (PIN) and add security questions.
Afterwards, when you open a part of Airbnb that needs it, a passcode goes to the phone number on the account and you confirm with your PIN or your security questions. Some devices also let you use face recognition, a fingerprint or a passcode instead, but not on a new device's first login. If the number on your profile can't receive an SMS or a call, Airbnb warns that access to certain parts of your account may be blocked. Lost access to every number on the account? Choose Need Help on the 2FA screen and Airbnb replies within 12–24 hours so you can add a new one.
Airbnb's own masked numbers between guests and hosts
In the United States and Canada, a limited number of users get Airbnb-assigned temporary phone numbers when a homes booking is confirmed. Guests and hosts call or text each other normally, and caller ID may read “Airbnb guest” or “Airbnb host”. The numbers stay active until two days after checkout, and WhatsApp doesn't work with them. Real numbers typed into Airbnb messages or listing fields are blocked or replaced, though hosts see the last 4 digits of the guest's real number as a suggested door code. Everywhere else, the full number on your profile is shared after acceptance.

Keep it as long as you want
Airbnb may ask for your number again — on a new phone, after a reinstall or for account recovery. Keep your number renewed and it stays yours, so you can always receive the code.
Not what you needed? Our 7-day replacement guarantee — if the number doesn't work with WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram or Google, we replace it free or refund 100%; plus a no-questions-asked refund if you haven't used it for any call or SMS.
Questions
Does an SMSCreation number work with Airbnb?
In most cases, yes: our numbers are real mobile numbers, so Airbnb can send its code to them by SMS — and by call where Airbnb offers it. Airbnb's own sign-up rules still apply, so check the verification details on this page before you buy.
Which country should I choose for Airbnb?
Any country works. Pick the country where you want your contacts to see a local number, or where the service you're joining expects one.
Will the number work with WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram and Google?
Yes — guaranteed. It's a real mobile number with unlimited incoming SMS and calls, so verification codes arrive by SMS or voice call. If it doesn't work with WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram, Google or any app you need, we replace it free within 7 days — or refund 100%.
Can I keep using the same number for Airbnb?
Yes. The number is yours for as long as you keep it renewed, so you can receive codes again for new devices or account recovery.
What if I don't need the number after all?
You're covered by our 7-day replacement guarantee — if the number doesn't work with WhatsApp, Facebook, Telegram or Google, we replace it free or refund 100%; plus a no-questions-asked refund if you haven't used it for any call or SMS — request a refund within 7 days of activation.
How much does it cost?
From $1.80 a month on the yearly plan (billed yearly at $21.60/year). Every plan includes unlimited incoming SMS and calls, 500 outgoing SMS and 1,000 minutes.
Is phone verification enough to book on Airbnb?
It's one of the requirements, not all of them. Guests need a verified phone number to book, and Airbnb may also verify your identity with your legal name and address, a government ID photo, or a selfie. The number handles the phone step; the ID step is yours.
Will hosts see this phone number?
Yes. After a reservation is accepted, Airbnb shows all phone numbers on your account to the other party, whether you're the guest or the host. Adding a dedicated number means your personal number isn't the one shared.
Does Airbnb two-factor authentication accept a phone call instead of SMS?
Yes. During setup you choose text (SMS) or a phone call for the one-time passcode, then confirm with your PIN or security questions. Our number receives both, in the dashboard.
What can a host see of my real number on Airbnb?
Where Airbnb's masked numbers are active (some users in the US and Canada), hosts see the last 4 digits of your real number as a door-code suggestion. Elsewhere, numbers on your account are shared once a reservation is accepted, which is why many guests use a separate number.
How long does Airbnb take if I can't receive any code?
Choose Need Help on the two-factor screen. Airbnb says it gets in touch within 12–24 hours so you can add a new phone number.
